Padua Franciscan High School is a private co-educational Franciscan college-preparatory school in Parma, Ohio. It is within the Roman Catholic Diocese of Cleveland. History Founded in 1961 as a private school for boys, Padua Franciscan became co-educational in 1983 and is the largest co-ed private school in northeast Ohio. School year The school year is made up of two 90-day semesters which are subdivided into four 9-week grading quarters. A typical school day consists of eight 41-minute periods and a 26-minute lunch. Padua offers remedial, basic, regular, honors, and Advanced Placement (AP) courses in a variety of subjects. To graduate from Padua, each student must complete a core curriculum of 24 credits over the four years. Parma is a city in Cuyahoga County, Ohio, United States, located on the southern edge of Cleveland. As of the 2020 census, its population was 81,146. Parma is the seventh largest city in the state of Ohio, the largest suburb in the state, and the second largest city in Cuyahoga County after Cleveland. Brian Holzinger
Brian Alan Holzinger (born October 10, 1972) is an American former professional ice hockey center. He played in the National Hockey League with the Buffalo Sabres, Tampa Bay Lightning, Pittsburgh Penguins and the Columbus Blue Jackets. Playing career Holzinger was drafted in the sixth round, 124th overall, by the Buffalo Sabres in the 1991 NHL Entry Draft. Daniel J. Fritsche (born July 13, 1985) is a Swiss-American former professional ice hockey forward. He played for Genève-Servette HC, HC Lugano and the ZSC Lions in the National League (NL) and in the National Hockey League (NHL) for the Columbus Blue Jackets, the New York Rangers and the Minnesota Wild. Playing career Fritsche began his junior hockey career with his hometown Cleveland Barons of the North American Hockey League. North Coast League
The North Coast League (NCL) was a high school athletic conference for Catholic schools in Greater Cleveland, Ohio. The NCL was founded in 1984 by six parochial high schools: Cleveland Central Catholic, Holy Name, Lake Catholic, Pacua Franciscan, St. Peter Chanel, and Trinity. The league expanded throughout the 1990s and 2000s, reaching a peak of 13 members in the early-to-mid 2010s, before declining in membership. The NCL disbanded after the 2019-20 school year.
