Padheyam
''Patheyam'' () is a 1993 Indian Malayalam-language drama film directed by Bharathan, based on a screenplay by A. K. Lohithadas. The film stars Mammootty and Chippy in lead roles, along with Nedumudi Venu, Sasikala, Bharat Gopy and Oduvil Unnikrishnan in supporting roles. The film revolves around Chandradas, a writer of repute, who comes across Haritha Menon, his daughter after a lapse of 15 years, at a school function in Kodaikanal. The film was Bharat Gopy's first outing as a producer for a mainstream commercial production. He produced the film under the banner of Minugopi Moviearts. The film was shot extensively in and around Kodaikanal. The film features original songs that was composed by Bombay Ravi, while the lyrics were written by Kaithapram Damodaran Namboothiri. The cinematography of the film was done by Madhu Ambat, while the editing was done by B. Lenin and V. T. Vijayan. The art direction of the film was done by Bharathan himself. Gopynathan Velayudhan Nair (2 November 1937 – 29 January 2008), popularly known by the stage name Bharat Gopy, was an Indian actor, producer and director. He was one of the first actors to be associated with the New Wave cinema movement in Kerala during the 1970s. Ravi Shankar Sharma (3 March 1926 – 7 March 2012), often referred to mononymously as Ravi, was an Indian music director, who had composed music for several Hindi and Malayalam films. After a successful career in Hindi cinema, he took a break from the 1970s to 1984, and made a successful comeback in the Malayalam music scene under the stage name Bombay Ravi. Biography Ravi was born in Delhi on 3 March 1926. He had no formal training in classical music; instead he learned music by listening to his father sing bhajans. Bharathan is noted for being the founder of a new school of film making in Malayalam cinema, along with Padmarajan and K. G.
