Padgate Academy
Padgate Academy is a coeducational secondary school located in the Padgate area of Warrington in the English county of Cheshire. It was first known as Padgate Community High School, it then became Lysander Community High School. The school converted to academy status on 1 January 2013 and was renamed University Academy Warrington. Previously it was a community school under the direct control of Warrington Borough Council. The school continues to coordinate with Warrington Borough Council regarding its admissions. In December 2018, the school was rebrokered and became Padgate Academy, sponsored by The Challenge Academy Trust. Academy (English School)
An academy school in England is a state-funded school which is directly funded by the Department for Education and independent of local authority control. Padgate
Padgate is a suburb of Warrington, in the civil parish of Poulton-with-Fearnhead, in the Warrington district, in the ceremonial county of Cheshire, England. History Overview Historically part of Lancashire, until 1838 Padgate was an area of farmland in the Fearnhead district. It was only with the establishment of a parish and the building of Christ Church Padgate that a recognisable community arose. Warrington
Warrington () is a town and unparished area in the borough of the same name in the ceremonial county of Cheshire, England, on the banks of the River Mersey. It is east of Liverpool, and west of Manchester.
