Pacific Northwest Amateur
The Pacific Northwest Amateur is an annual amateur golf tournament. It is one of the oldest amateur tournaments in the United States having first been played in 1899. It is organized by the Pacific Northwest Golf Association (PNGA) and the tournament is also known as the PNGA Men's Amateur. It is played at a variety of courses in the Pacific Northwest. Golf
Golf is a club-and-ball sport in which players use various clubs to hit balls into a series of holes on a course in as few strokes as possible. Golf, unlike most ball games, cannot and does not use a standardized playing area, and coping with the varied terrains encountered on different courses is a key part of the game. Courses typically have either 18 or 9 ''holes'', regions of terrain that each contain a ''cup'', the hole that receives the ball. Each hole on a course contains a teeing ground to start from, and a putting green containing the cup. There are several standard forms of terrain between the tee and the green, such as the fairway, rough (tall grass), and various ''hazards'' such as water, rocks, or sand-filled ''bunkers''. Chris Jorgensen (golfer)
Christian August Jorgensen (October 7, 1860 - June 24, 1935) was a Norwegian-born American landscape painter. Jorgensen is best known for his paintings of Yosemite Valley and the California Missions. Early life and influences Chris Jorgensen was born in Oslo, Norway in 1860, to parents Ole and Sophie Jorgensen. Joel Kribel
Joel Kribel (born January 27, 1977) is a former American professional golfer who played on the PGA Tour, Web.com Tour, PGA Tour Canada, and Gateway Tour. Amateur career Kribel was born in Pleasanton, California. As a junior golfer, Kribel was a member of the Castlewood Country Club Junior Golf Program, a program that produced several professional golfers including Paula Creamer, Dana Dormann, Pat Hurst, and Todd Fischer. He attended Amador Valley High School, won two NCGA Northern California High School Boys Individual Championships, and went on to play his collegiate golf at Stanford University where he was a teammate of Tiger Woods. Ben Crane
Benjamin McCully Crane (born March 6, 1976) is an American professional golfer who plays on the PGA Tour. Early years and amateur career Crane was born in Portland, Oregon. He was introduced to golf at age five by his grandfather. He grew up playing at the nearby Portland Golf Club, where Ben Hogan won the Portland Open in 1945. Jeffrey Michael Quinney (born November 17, 1978) is an American professional golfer. Early life Quinney was born in Eugene, Oregon. Amateur career Quinney had a successful amateur career, winning the U.S. Amateur in 2000, and represented the USA in the Walker Cup in 2001. Nick Flanagan
Nicholas Flanagan (born 13 June 1984) is an Australian professional golfer. Flanagan was born in Belmont, New South Wales. He won the 2003 U.S. Amateur, the first non-American winner since 1971. He was awarded the 2003 Australian Young Male Athlete of the Year. He turned professional in 2004. Flanagan currently plays on the Nationwide Tour.
