It was first played in September 2012 at the Kapolei Golf Course in Kapolei, Hawaii, which is owned and operated by Pacific Links International. The 2015 Champions Tour was the 36th season for the golf tour now known as PGA Tour Champions since it officially began in 1980 as the Senior PGA Tour. The season was to have had 26 official money events, including five majors, but the PGA Tour removed two September events during the season, reducing it to 24 events. Willie Wood (golfer)
Willard West Wood Jr. (born October 1, 1960) is an American professional golfer who has played on the PGA Tour, Nationwide Tour, and PGA Tour Champions. Professional career Wood was born in Kingsville, Texas. He had an outstanding junior career, winning the 1977 U.S. Junior Amateur, the 1978 PGA Junior, and the 1979 Western Junior, and was named the 1978 AJGA Rolex Player of the Year. He attended Oklahoma State University in Stillwater, Oklahoma and was a star member of the golf team, where he played alongside Bob Tway, Scott Verplank, and Tommy Moore. He played in the 1983 Walker Cup. Later that same year joined the PGA Tour by being medalist at 1983 PGA Tour Qualifying School. Wood has split his playing time between the PGA Tour and the Nationwide Tour. Mark Wiebe
Mark Charles Wiebe (born September 13, 1957) is an American professional golfer who currently plays on the PGA Tour Champions. He also played on the PGA Tour and Nationwide Tour. Early life Wiebe was born in Seaside, Oregon and grew up in Escondido, California. He attended Escondido High School from 1972–75, then Palomar College from 1976–77, then San Jose State University from 1978–79, and was a member of the golf team at both institutions. While a student at Palomar, he was the individual medalist at the 1977 California Amateur, won the 1977 Idaho Amateur; and he holds the Palomar school record for low round at 6-under-par (66).
