Minnesota are a professional ice hockey team based in Saint Paul, Minnesota. They are one of the six charter franchises of the Professional Women's Hockey League (PWHL). Minnesota Golden Gophers
The Minnesota Golden Gophers (commonly shortened to Gophers) are the college sports teams of the University of Minnesota. The university fields a total of 25 (12 men's, 13 women's) teams in both men's and women's sports and competes in the Big Ten Conference. The Gophers women's ice hockey team is a six-time NCAA champion and seven-time national champion. In women's ice hockey, the Gophers belong to the Western Collegiate Hockey Association. Madeline S. "Maddie" Rooney (born July 7, 1997) is an American ice hockey player who plays for PWHL Minnesota of the Professional Women's Hockey League (PWHL). She was the starting goaltender for the United States women's national ice hockey team when they won the gold medal at the 2018 Winter Olympics. Grace Zumwinkle (born April 23, 1999) is an American ice hockey player for PWHL Minnesota of the Professional Women's Hockey League (PWHL). She played college ice hockey at Minnesota. She represented the United States women's national ice hockey team at the 2022 Winter Olympics.
