Bezobrazno Zeleno
Bezobrazno Zeleno ( sr-cyr, Безобразно Зелено, trans. ''Rudely Green'') was a Yugoslav rock band formed in Belgrade in 1980. Led by bass guitarist Bojan Vasić, the band belonged to the second generation of Belgrade new wave bands and took part in the notable '' Artistička radna akcija'' compilation album. In 1984 the band released their debut album ''BZ1'', but ended their activity soon after the album release. The band reformed in 1988, releasing their second studio album, ''Neonske bajke'' (1989), which featured more power pop-oriented sound. However, the band disbanded once again in 1991, due to the outbreak of Yugoslav Wars. In 2017 Vasić and the band's original drummer Dragoljub Spasić reunited and released several songs announcing the band's comeback album, but the album was never released due to Vasić's death in 2019. Bel Tempo ( sr-Cyrl, Бел Темпо, transliteration for ''Belle Tempo'', Italian for ''Nice Weather'') was a Serbian and Yugoslav musical duo formed in Belgrade in 1986 and consisting of siblings Vladimir Petričević (guitar, keyboards and vocals) and Suzana Petričević (vocals). At the time of Bel Tempo formation, Suzana Petričević had already gained prominence as a theatre actress. Their eponymous debut album, which featured the combination of pop rock and jazz, made them a prominent act of the Yugoslav rock scene. In 1992 the duo released their second album, ''Modesty'', featuring similar sound, ending their activity soon after. They had made only one brief reunion, appearing on the 1996 MESAM festival. Bajaga i Instruktori (Serbian Cyrillic: Бајага и Инструктори; trans. ''Bajaga and the Instructors'') are a Serbian and Yugoslav rock band formed in Belgrade in 1984. Founded and led by vocalist, guitarist and principal composer and lyricist Momčilo Bajagić "Bajaga", the group is one of the most notable acts of the Yugoslav rock scene. The band was formed while Bajagaić was still a guitarist for the highly popular band Riblja Čorba, originally to promote Bajagić's side project ''Pozitivna geografija''. The success of the album and the promotional tour led to the continuation of the band's activity. Amajlija (Serbian Cyrillic: Амајлија; transl. ''Amulet'') is a Serbian and Yugoslav rock band formed in Novi Sad in 1979. Led by vocalist and guitarist Bogoljub "Čombe" Banjac, Amajlija reached the peak of popularity in the late 1980s and early 1990s with their melodic hard rock sound. Silvana Bajraktarević (born Zilha Bajraktarević; 18 February 1939 – 10 October 1976), known professionally as Silvana Armenulić (), was a Bosnian singer-songwriter and actress and one of the most prominent commercial folk music and traditional sevdalinka singers in Yugoslavia. She is called the "Queen of Sevdalinka". Her life was cut short when she died in a car crash at the age of 37, but she continues to be well regarded in the region and she is recognized for her unique singing style and voice. Buldožer
Buldožer (meaning "bulldozer"), was a Yugoslav-Slovenian progressive rock band from the 1970s and 1980s. They were one of the first bands in communist Yugoslavia that could be considered Avant-prog, and forefathers of the Yugoslav new wave. In musical sense, they experimented with a variety of genres, while most of their lyrics, written in Serbo-Croatian, were a satire and mockery of the political and musical establishment, themselves included. Their appearance on the Yugoslav musical scene in the early 1970s was "equal to the appearance of flying saucers with Martians". They jumped into the musical scene, which was attempting to keep up with the global trend of symphonic rock, creatively self-confident and implementing fresh ideas. Bulevar ( sr-cyr, Булевар; trans. ''Boulevard'') were a Serbian and former Yugoslav new wave band from Belgrade. History Band formation The band history dates from the days of the group Tilt consisting of young highschool attendants Dejan Cukić (a former Dizel member, vocals), Nenad Stamatović (guitar), Dušan Bezuha (guitar), Miroslav Cvetković (bass) and drummers at different times, Vlada Golubović and Predrag Jakovljević. The band sometimes also performed with rock veteran Branko Marušić "Čutura" (guitar, vocals). Following the departures of Bezuha, Golubović, who went to Suncokret, and Cvetković, who went to Pop Mašina, the band ceased to exist. Beograd ( sr-Cyrl, Београд, trans. ''Belgrade'') is a Serbian and Yugoslav electronic music band formed in Belgrade in 1980. Beograd was formed by Slobodan Stanić (synthesizer) and Ljubodrag Bubalo (bass guitar, synthesizer), and was soon joined by Ljubodrag's brother Milan Bubalo ( rhythm machine, electric drums) and Dejan Stanisavljević (synthesizer, vocals). Influenced by the acts like Kraftwerk, Ultravox and Human League, Beograd played the pioneering role on the Yugoslav synth-pop scene. Bastion (band)
Bastion ( mk, Бастион) was an eminent electronic music group from Skopje, North Macedonia, notable for its member Kiril Džajkovski (Кирил Џајковски), who later rose to international prominence as a solo musician, DJ and a composer of the soundtrack album for Milčo Mančevski's movie ''Dust''. The trio was formed in 1983 in Skopje, then SR Macedonia. The line up consisted of: Ana Kostovska (vocalist), Kiril Džajkovski (keyboards) and Ljubomir Stojsavljević (bass guitar). The author of their lyrics was the internationally acclaimed film director Milčo Mančevski, at that time a correspondent of the magazines Džuboks and ''Zdravo'' from New York City. Đorđe Balašević
Đorđe Balašević ( sr-Cyrl, Ђорђе Балашевић; 11 May 1953 – 19 February 2021) was a Serbian and Yugoslav singer and songwriter, writer, poet and director. He began his career in the late 1970s as a member of the band Rani Mraz, transitioning after two albums to a solo career. He first gained mainstream prominence for writing Rani Mraz's hit "Računajte na nas" (Count on Us), which was often described as an anthem of a generation. Noted for his vivid lyricism and poetry, Balašević was also known for weaving political commentary into his songs and live performance. Broadly supportive of South Slavic unity in late 1970s and early 1980s, in the lead up to the Yugoslav wars he began to criticise the authorities.
