PDX FC
PDX Football Club is an American soccer club from Portland, Oregon, United States. The club was established in 2017 and currently plays in USL League Two. The club previously played in the National Premier Soccer League's West Region, Northwest Conference. History PDX FC was founded by Luke Babson, an assistant coach at Western Oregon University, and Max Babson, a media producer for BeIN Sports and the Pac-12 Network. The club was announced as a NPSL expansion team on February 13, 2017, joining the Northwest Conference for the 2017 season. During their inaugural season, the club missed a playoff position by only two points, finishing third in the table. In 2021, PDX joined USL League Two. PDX currently has two championships under their belt, having won the Oregon Open Cup in 2020 and the National Independent Soccer Association, NISA Independent Cup Pacific Region in 2021. The National Premier Soccer League (NPSL) is an American men's association football, soccer league. The NPSL is a semi-professional league, comprising some teams that have paid players and some that are entirely amateur. The league is officially affiliated to the United States Adult Soccer Association (USASA) and has automatic qualification for the U.S. Open Cup. It is the successor of the Men's Premier Soccer League, a regional league originally based in the Western United States, which has now expanded nationwide to encompass teams from 29 states. 2018 NPSL Season
The 2018 National Premier Soccer League season was part of the 106th season of FIFA-sanctioned soccer in the United States and the 16th season of the National Premier Soccer League (NPSL). Elm City Express was the defending champion. The 2018 NPSL champion qualifies to play for the 2019 Hank Steinbrecher Cup organized by the United States Adult Soccer Association. The NPSL has elected to use results of the 2018 league season to determine which NPSL clubs qualify for the 2019 U.S. Open Cup. The 2020 National Premier Soccer League season was part of the 108th season of FIFA-sanctioned soccer in the United States and the 18th season of the National Premier Soccer League (NPSL). Miami FC, the defending league champions, left in the off-season and joined the National Independent Soccer Association and later the USL Championship. USL League Two (USL2), formerly the Premier Development League (PDL), is a semi-professional developmental soccer league sponsored by United Soccer Leagues in the United States and Canada, forming part of the United States soccer league system.
