Pétur Tryggvi Hjalmarsson (24 January 1956 - 8 March 2021) was an Icelandic gold and silversmith. Background Tryggvi was born in Ísafjörður in Iceland. He was first trained in the goldsmith shop of his father Hjálmar Torfason in Reykjavík. He graduated from the Guldsmedehøjskolen (Goldsmith's High School) in Copenhagen in 1983. Work He opened a workshop in Reykjavík in 1985, and moved to Denmark in 1988; his shop was in Gentofte, near Copenhagen. Pétur Sigurgeirsson (2 June 1919 – 4 June 2010) was the Bishop of Iceland from 1981 until 1989. Biography Pétur was the son of Sigurgeir Sigurdsson who later became Bishop of Iceland and Gudrún Pétursdóttir. He had 3 other siblings and was the oldest amongst them. He graduated from Reykjavík University in 1940 and studied theology at the University of Iceland and graduated in 1944. He undertook a master's degree at the Lutheran Theological Seminary at Philadelphia in Philadelphia and studied journalism, English and Biblical Studies at Stanford University, California. In 1947, he was ordained priest and served in the parish of Akureyri. Pétur Pétursson (3 October 1808 – 15 May 1891) was a prominent political leader in Iceland, eventually becoming the fourth Bishop of Iceland from 1866 to 1889. Biography Pétursson was born in Blönduhlíð, the son of Péturs Péturssonar, a professor in Víðivöllur and his second wife, Thóra Brynjólfsdóttir. He was one of the well-known Víðivalli brothers, the others were Jón Pétursson Supreme Court Judge and Brynjólfur Pétursson, a lawyer.
