Pádraig ( ; ), Pádraic or Páraic ( , ; ) is an Irish male name deriving from the Latin ''Patricius'', meaning "of the patrician class", introduced via the name of Saint Patrick. Patrick is the English version. Padraic Pearse
Patrick Henry Pearse (also known as Pádraig or Pádraic Pearse; ga, Pádraig Anraí Mac Piarais; 10 November 1879 – 3 May 1916) was an Irish teacher, barrister, poet, writer, nationalist, republican political activist and revolutionary who was one of the leaders of the Easter Rising in 1916. Following his execution along with fifteen others, Pearse came to be seen by many as the embodiment of the rebellion. Pádraig Peter Harrington (born 31 August 1971) is an Irish professional golfer who plays on the European Tour, PGA Tour and the PGA Tour Champions. He has won three major championships: The Open Championship in 2007 and 2008 and the PGA Championship, also in 2008. Pádraig Amond (born 15 April 1988) is an Irish professional footballer who plays as a striker for National League club Woking. He began his career in his native Ireland with Shamrock Rovers, progressing through the club's youth academy before making his first-team debut in 2006. In his first season, he helped the team achieve promotion to the League of Ireland Premier Division. After a spell on loan to Kildare County, Amond established himself in the first-team and was named the club's Young Player of the Year in 2008. Pádraig Duggan
The Duggans ( ga, Na Dúgáiní) were an Irish musical duo from Gweedore, County Donegal, Ireland. The twin brothers Noel Duggan and Pádraig Duggan ( ga, Ó Dúgáin) came to prominence in the 1970s with the folk group Clannad, and took a ten-year break after winning a Grammy Award for their 1998 album ''Landmarks''. They later toured extensively with their band Norland Wind. They were identified and introduced to television by Tony MacMahon, and in 2005 released their first studio album ''Rubicon'', which featured Moya Brennan, Finbar Furey and Órla Fallon among others. Pádraig Horan
Pádraig Horan (born 21 April 1950) is an Irish former hurler who played as a full-forward for the Offaly senior hurling team. Horan made his first appearance for the team during the 1968–69 National League and subsequently became a regular member of the starting fifteen until his retirement after the 1986 championship. During that time he won two All-Ireland medals, four Leinster medals and one All Stars Award. Horan captained Offaly to their first All-Ireland title in 1981. Pádraig de Brún (13 October 1889 – 5 June 1960), also called Patrick Joseph Monsignor Browne, was an Irish clergyman, mathematician, poet, and classical scholar, who served as President of University College, Galway (UCG). Pádraig Hughes
Pádraig Hughes is a Gaelic football referee from Armagh. He is a regular member of the Gaelic Athletic Association's Championship Panels for inter-county games. Hughes injured himself against Eamonn Doherty when he was officiating the Dublin game in Ballybofey in the 2013 National Football League and he had to be stretchered off of the field. The injury was so bad that he was ruled out of the 2013 All-Ireland Senior Football Championship, and Down's Ciarán Brannigan was brought in to replace him. Hughes officiated the 2014 All-Ireland Senior Football Championship Final, which saw Donegal face Kerry. Saint Patrick ( la, Patricius; ga, Pádraig ; cy, Padrig) was a fifth-century Romano-British Christian missionary and bishop in Ireland. Pádraig Clancy is a Gaelic footballer from County Laois. Playing career Clancy plays with his local club Timahoe and won three Laois Intermediate Football Championships, in 2000, 2004 and 2010. Clancy usually played at midfield for his county. He emerged onto the scene in 1998 as part of the Laois minor team that retained the Leinster Minor Football Championship title before going on to lose the All-Ireland Minor Football Championship final to Tyrone.
