Pyro (Marvel Comics)
Pyro is the name of two fictional characters appearing in American comic books published by Marvel Comics. Known as St. John Allerdyce, Pyro is depicted as a recurring enemy of the X-Men and later becomes an agent of the U.S. government. He was created by Chris Claremont and John Byrne and introduced in ''The Uncanny X-Men'' #141 ( January 1981) as part of the Brotherhood of Evil Mutants. Pyro has the mutant power to control fire. Pyro and the Brotherhood of Evil Mutants are the main antagonists in the X-Men story ''Days of Future Past'' as they attempt to assassinate Senator Robert Kelly, which in an alternate timeline leads to a dystopic future where Mutants are hunted, killed or captured by the Sentinel robots. Pyro Plastics Corporation
The Pyro Plastics Corporation was an American manufacturing company based in Union Township, NJ and popular during the 1950s and 1960s that produced toys and plastic model kits. Some of the scale models manufactured and commercialised by Pyro were cars, motorcycles, aircraft, ships, and military vehicles, and animal and human figures. The company ceased activities after being sold to Life-Like in 1972. History The company was founded in 1939 by William M. Pyromania is an impulse control disorder in which individuals repeatedly fail to resist impulses to deliberately start fires, to relieve some tension or for instant gratification. The term ''pyromania'' comes from the Greek word (''pyr'', 'fire'). Pyromania is distinct from arson, the deliberate setting of fires for personal, monetary or political gain. Pyromaniacs start fires to release anxiety and tension, or for arousal. Other impulse disorders include kleptomania and intermittent explosive disorder. Pyro Mobile was a video game developer based in Madrid, Spain, established in 2012 as a merger between Play Wireless and Pyro Studios and eventually ceasing operations in the second half of 2017. Pyro (foaled on February 19, 2005 in Kentucky) is an American Thoroughbred Racehorse and sire. His sire is Pulpit, a son of the 1992 Eclipse Award Winner for American Horse of the Year, A.P. Indy. His dam is the mare Wild Vision, sired by the 1984 Breeders' Cup Classic winner, Wild Again. Racing Career (2007) At age two Pyro won an allowance race by a nose and notably ran second to War Pass in the Grade 1 Champagne Stakes at Belmont Park in Elmont, New York and in the Breeders' Cup Juvenile at Monmouth Park in Oceanport, New Jersey. Mineral-insulated copper-clad cable is a variety of electrical cable made from copper conductors inside a copper sheath, insulated by inorganic magnesium oxide powder. The name is often abbreviated to MICC or MI cable, and colloquially known as pyro (because the original manufacturer and vendor for this product in the UK was a company called Pyrotenax).
