Pyramide (patience)
Die Pyramide is a patience game of medium difficulty that is played with 104 playing cards. It is also known as Big Harp. It has one more stack than Double Klondike, which makes the game easier. The name is German and means "The Pyramid". It is not related to the patience game of Pyramid. Rules Use two decks of cards. Shuffle them and deal 9, 8, 7, 6, 5, 4, 3, 2, 1 and 0 hidden cards on the 10 cascades. Now add one row of open cards and you are ready to go. Try to build ascending from the aces on the 8 foundations and use the Klondike red on black alternating-colour rule to build cascades. If stuck, draw card by card from the stock to the waste. Patience Game
Patience (Europe), card solitaire or solitaire (US/Canada), is a genre of Card game, card games whose common feature is that the aim is to arrange the cards in some systematic order or, in a few cases, to pair them off in order to discard them. Most are intended for play by a single player, but there are also "excellent games of patience for two or more players". Name 'Patience' is the earliest recorded name for this type of card game in both British and American sources. The word is French in origin, these games being "regarded as an exercise in patience." Although the name solitaire became common in North America for this type of game during the 20th century, British games scholar David Parlett notes that there are good reasons for preferring the name 'patience'. Double Klondike
Double Solitaire is a two-player variant on the best-known patience or solitaire card game called Klondike. While it is mostly referred to as ''Double Solitaire'', it is sometimes called Double Klondike (a name which also doubles as an alternate designation of the single-player solitaire game Gargantua). Games with more players (Triple Solitaire, Quadruple Solitaire, etc.) are also possible. As the name suggests, Double Klondike is a two-player game, and is played with two full packs of playing cards, minus the Jokers; for the purpose of Double Klondike, the cards should be of the same size, but each pack's cards should be distinguishable from the other packs in some way, such as a different font style on the cards' faces or different backing designs for each pack. Pyramid (patience)
Pyramid is a patience or solitaire game of the Simple Addition family, where the object is to get all the cards from the pyramid to the foundation. The object of the game is to remove pairs of cards that add up to a total of 13, the equivalent of the highest valued card in the deck, from a pyramid arrangement of 28 cards. When using the standard 52-card deck, Jacks are valued at 11, Queens at 12, and Kings at 13. Under the strictest rules, the odds of winning are around 1 in 50. Rules To set up the pyramid, one card is dealt face up at the top of the playing area, then two cards beneath and partially covering it, then three beneath them, and so on completing with a row of seven cards for a total of 28 cards dealt (or six rows of 21 cards). Games of patience, or (card) solitaires as they are usually called in North America, have their own 'language' of specialised terms such as "building down", "packing", "foundations", "talon" and "tableau".
