Pyotr Todorovskiy
Pyotr Yefimovich Todorovsky (russian: Пётр Ефи́мович Тодоро́вский, uk, Петро Юхимович Тодоровський, 26 August 1925 – 24 May 2013) was a Russian film director, screenwriter and cinematographer of Jewish origin. His son Valery Todorovsky is also a film director. Career Todorovsky joined the Red Army during World War II and drew on his war experiences for a number of films, including ''Rio-Rita'' (2008). In the 1950s, he worked as a cinematographer for Marlen Khutsiev. He liked to play guitar and composed songs for some of his films. Todorovsky's early 1980s melodramas gained him wide popularity in the Soviet Union. They have been described as "delightfully unpretentious comedies, homourous and touching at the same time". Bobrynets
Bobrynets (, russian: Бо́бринец, yi, בוברניץ) is a city in Kropyvnytskyi Raion, Kirovohrad Oblast (oblast, province) of Ukraine. It hosts the administration of Bobrynets urban hromada, one of the hromadas of Ukraine. Population: History Settlement in the Yelisavetgradsky Uyezd of the Kherson Governorate of the Russian Empire. At the beginning of the 20th century, the Jewish population of the town was 3,500 inhabitants. During the Russian civil war (1918–1920), 160 Jews were killed during pogroms. Many left the city before the Germans occupied the area. In 1941, Jews were kept prisoners in a ghetto. At the beginning of 1942, 358 Jews were murdered in mass executions perpetrated in the nearby forest. In 1968 population was 11 600 people. In 1989 population was 12 869 people. The guitar is a fretted musical instrument that typically has six strings. ''Magician'' (russian: Фокусник, Fokusnik) is a 1967 Soviet drama film directed by Pyotr Todorovsky. It was the Experimental Creative Studio's (subdivision of Mosfilm) first film. Plot The film is about an elderly magician a good man, shy, but at the same honest and principled. Because of the lack of shows, he is forced to do house concerts. Once Kukushkin meets a young beauty by the name of Elena, and falls in love with her. He and Elena arrange something like a wedding, but the young wife is only interested in making important connections, afterwards she throws out the magician. Kukushkin does not become discouraged and stands in the yard distributing oranges to children. He realizes that the greatest magic is to give people the best that you have.
