Pyotr Dmitrievich Dolgorukov
Prince Pyotr Dmitriyevich Dolgorukov (russian: Князь Пётр Дми́триевич Долгору́ков; 1866, Tsarskoye Selo – 1951. Vladimir) was Russian liberal politician. Life Graduate of Moscow University. Well-known zemstvo man and for many years chairman of Sudzha Zemstvo Board. For his radical pronouncements at the sessions of Sudzha Uezd Committee to Study the Needs of Agricultural Industry, he was removed from his post by Plehve but reinstated under Sviatopolk-Mirsky. He was one of the founders of the Union of Liberation and of the periodical publication ''Osvobozhdenie''. He participated in zemstvo congresses, 1904–1905. One of the founders of the Constitutional Democratic Party, member and vice-chairman of the First State Duma, 1906. The House of Dolgorukov () is a princely Russian family of Rurikid stock. They are a cadet branch of the Obolenskiy family (until 1494 the rulers of Obolensk, one of the Upper Oka Principalities) and as such claiming patrilineal descent from Mikhail of Chernigov (d. 1246). The founder of the Dolgorukov branch of the Obolenskiy is Prince Ivan Andreevich Oblenskiy (15th century), who for his vengefulness was given the nickname of Долгорукий ''Dolgorukiy'', i.e. "far-reaching". Obolensk was incorporated into the expanding Grand Duchy of Moscow in 1494, and the house of Dolgorukov became a powerful noble family in Tsardom of Russia and the Russian Empire. Prince Pavel Dmitrievich Dolgorukov (russian: Князь Па́вел Дми́триевич Долгору́ков, tr. ; 1866, Tsarskoye Selo – June 9, 1927) was a Russian landowner and aristocrat who was executed by the Bolsheviks in 1927. Biography Prince Pavel Dolgorukov was born in 1866. He was a member of the Dolgorukov family, one of the oldest branches of the Russian aristocracy during the Tsarist era. He inherited great wealth and was involved in the work of the zemstvo (regional councils), particularly in the Moscow region, where he owned an estate. Prior to the 1905 revolution, he identified himself primarily with the liberals. In 1905, he helped to found the Cadet party, and served as Chairman of its central committee from 1911 to 1915. Sailor (band)
Sailor are a British pop/glam rock group, best known in the 1970s for their hit singles "A Glass of Champagne" and "Girls, Girls, Girls", written by the group's lead singer and 12-string guitar player, Georg Kajanus. In the 1970s The group's leader, Georg Kajanus, had previously written "Flying Machine" for Cliff Richard in 1971, although it was Richard's first British single that failed to reach the top 30. Sailor developed from Kajanus Pickett, a singer-songwriter duo that had formed when Phil Pickett and Kajanus met in 1970 at E H Morris, a music publisher where Pickett briefly worked.
