''Putt-Putt'' is a series of children's adventure and puzzle computer games created by Humongous Entertainment. This franchise was Humongous Entertainment's first game series to be developed. They primarily involve clicking to get to a destination, although some sub-quests and mini-games involve the keyboard. The main character, Putt-Putt, an anthropomorphic purple convertible, and his dog, Pep, travel to various locations. History Putt-Putt was originally thought up by Shelley Day as a series of bedtime stories for her son, Travis; the first story involved Putt-Putt saving a cat caught in a tree. Child actor Jason Ellefson did Putt-Putt's voice for the first eight of the games. In the next three games, Nancy Cartwright (of ''The Simpsons'' fame) voiced Putt-Putt. Michelle Thorson voiced Putt-Putt in ''Pep's Birthday Surprise''. The games are supported by ScummVM and thus can be played on other platforms such as handhelds. Humongous Entertainment, Inc. was an American video game developer based in Bothell, Washington. Founded in 1992, the company is best known for developing multiple edutainment franchises, most prominently ''Putt-Putt (series), Putt-Putt'', ''Freddi Fish'', ''Pajama Sam'' and ''Spy Fox'', which, combined, sold over 15 million copies and earned more than 400 awards of excellence. Humongous Entertainment was acquired by GT Interactive (later renamed Infogrames, Inc., then Atari, Inc.) in July 1996. By October 2000, sales of Humongous games had surpassed 16 million copies. GT sold Humongous to its parent company, Infogrames (later renamed Atari SA), in August 2005, as a result of which the company was shut down a few months after. ''Freddi Fish and the Case of the Missing Kelp Seeds'' is a video game developed and published by Humongous Entertainment and the first game released for the ''Freddi Fish'' franchise. It was released on November 7, 1994. In 2008, it was released on the Wii under the title ''Freddi Fish in Kelp Seed Mystery'' as well as Windows and Macintosh, and on Android with a shortened title ''Freddi Fish and the Missing Kelp Seeds''. The Wii version's availability was limited by legal problems concerning its development. A simplified handheld LCD game partially based on ''Kelp Seeds'' was also released in 1999 that adapted one of its minigames, ''Jellyfish Jamboree'' and was titled ''Freddi Fish: Jellyfish Jamboree''. ''Putt-Putt and Pep's Balloon-o-Rama'' is a 1996 action video game, developed by Humongous Entertainment. The game is part of the '' Putt-Putt'' series of educational video games. It was part of a series of Junior Arcade games, targeted at kids aged three to eight. ''Putt-Putt and Pep's Balloon-o-Rama'' was originally released on October 18, 1996, along with ''Putt-Putt and Pep's Dog on a Stick''. The game was re-released on Linux on April 17, 2014. The game was included in the Putt-Putt Deluxe Pack. A LCD handheld version of the game was also released in 1999 by ToyMax. Pep's Birthday Surprise
Pep's is a French artist (as well as a group) based in Grenoble, with musical styles encompassing genres such as rock, R&B, and reggae. The group was formed in 2001. The stage name of singer (and group) comes from a nickname inspired by the lead singer's name: Florian Peppuy. His influences are very diverse, ranging from Led Zeppelin and Noir Désir, to Ben Harper, Otis Redding, and The Fugees. Biography Florian Peppuy first picked up the trombone age 6 and a decade later he started composing and performing locally in a group by the name of "Recycled." ''Putt-Putt Joins the Circus'' is a video game and the sixth of adventure game of the '' Putt-Putt'' series of games. It was developed and published by Humongous Entertainment in 2000. This is the last of three games to feature Nancy Cartwright as the voice of Putt-Putt. Plot The game begins with Putt-Putt and Pep travelling to Apple Valley to see B.J. Sweeney's Big Top Circus. They find that a goat is blocking the road to Apple Valley, as well as the train tracks, where Roll-Along Cassidy, the circus train, is trying to deliver sawdust to the circus. Putt-Putt is able to coax the goat off of the train tracks with a flower bush. As Putt-Putt and Cassidy chat, the goat eats Putt-Putt's ticket, leaving Putt-Putt and Pep with seemingly no way to go to the circus. ''Putt-Putt Travels Through Time'' is a 1997 video game and the fourth of seven adventure games in the Putt-Putt series of games developed and published by Humongous Entertainment. In 2014 Night Dive Studios re-released the iOS, Linux and Steam versions. ''Putt-Putt Saves the Zoo'' is a 1995 video game and the third of seven adventure games in the Putt-Putt series of games developed and published by Humongous Entertainment. The animation style also changed with this game to hand-drawn animation, in contrast to the pixel art graphics of the previous two games, following the studio's jump from DOS to Windows with ''Freddi Fish and the Case of the Missing Kelp Seeds'' the previous year. ''Putt-Putt Goes To The Moon'' is a 1993 video game and the second of seven adventure games in the Putt-Putt series developed and published by Humongous Entertainment. It is also the last game in the series to use pixel art graphics. Plot Putt-Putt and Pep are invited by Mr. Firebird, a scientist friend of theirs, to visit his Fireworks Factory. While there, Putt-Putt enjoys making fireworks when a butterfly enters the factory through an open window. Pep chases the butterfly, but inadvertently pulls a lever that causes a fire cracker to emerge. Putt-Putt ends up riding on the fire cracker and is flown into outer space.
