''Push the Beat for This Jam (The Second Chapter)'', alternatively titled ''Push the Beat for This Jam (The Singles '94–'02)'' in the UK and Australia and ''Pushing the Beat (The Best of Scooter)'' in the US, is the second singles compilation from the German techno band Scooter, released on 7 January 2002. It collects all the singles from 1998 to 2002 including the hit single "The Logical Song" plus three new tracks "Habanera", "No Pain, No Gain", "Loud and Clear", some live tracks, B-sides and remixes. The title is a lyric from the single "Call Me Mañana". The song "Habanera" was also scheduled to be released as a single but there is only a promo release as it was dropped in favour of a new song, "Nessaja". Scooter is a German happy hardcore, rave and techno music band founded in Hamburg in 1993. To date, the band has sold over 30 million records and earned over 80 Gold and Platinum awards. Vincent "Vini" Poncia Jr. (born April 29, 1942) is an American musician, songwriter and record producer. Life and career The 1960s In the 1960s, Poncia formed a songwriting team with Peter Anders (née Peter Andreoli). An album of songs co-written by these childhood friends, ''The Anders & Poncia Album'', was produced by Richard Perry and released in 1969. The String-A-Longs were an American instrumental group from Plainview, Texas, United States. Norman Petty (May 25, 1927 – August 15, 1984) was an American musician, record producer, publisher, radio station owner, and considered to be one of the founding fathers of early rock & roll. Biography Petty was born in the small town of Clovis, New Mexico. He began playing piano at a young age. While in high school, he regularly performed on a 15-minute show on a local radio station. After his graduation in 1945, he was drafted into the United States Air Force. When he returned, he married his high-school sweetheart Violet Ann Brady on June 20, 1948. The couple lived briefly in Dallas, Texas, where Petty worked as a part-time engineer at a recording studio. Eventually, they moved back to their hometown of Clovis.
