Pure Juice
''Pure Juice'' is the debut album by alternative rock band Summercamp, released in 1997 by Maverick Recording Company. Background and promotion After signing with Madonna's Maverick Records in late 1996, Summercamp began working on their major label debut. Summercamp would be heavily hyped in the press, with Madonna telling MTV that the band were better than Oasis. ''Pure Juice'' was released on June 17, 1997, and that same month the band joined the 1997 edition of the Lollapalooza festival, which ran to August. To further promote the album, a music video was made for the single "Drawer". Reception "Drawer" peaked at #21 on the Modern Rock chart in the US, receiving airplay in the summer of 1997. Another single, "Should I Walk Away", became a top ten hit in Japan. Jason Ankeny of AllMusic gave the album two and a half stars, labelling it "derivative and highly formulaic" and "heavily influenced by late-'70s radio". ''BASEketball'' is a 1998 American sports comedy film co-written and directed by David Zucker and starring ''South Park'' creators Trey Parker and Matt Stone, along with Yasmine Bleeth, Jenny McCarthy, Robert Vaughn, Ernest Borgnine, and Dian Bachar. The film follows the history of the sport of the same name (created by Zucker years earlier), from its invention by the lead characters as a game they could win against more athletic types, to its development as a nationwide league sport and a target of corporate sponsorship. This is the only work involving Parker and Stone that was neither written, directed, nor produced by them, although Zucker himself has stated that Parker and Stone contributed innumerable suggestions for the film, most of which were used. Jodi Wille is an American film director, curator, and book publisher known for her work exploring American subcultures. Filmmaking and Photography Wille directed and produced ''The Source Family'' (2013), her first feature-length documentary, with Maria Demopoulos. The film, which unearths the story of the eponymous Los Angeles utopian commune and its charismatic leader, Father Yod, premiered in competition at South by Southwest Film Festival in March 2012, sold out multiple major film festivals, and was released theatrically in 60 cities in May 2013.
