Punnapra
Punnapra is a village in Alappuzha district of Kerala, India. It is a coastal area of the Arabian Sea and lies west to Kuttanad, popularly known as ''The rice bowl of Kerala''. Local Governance Punnapra is divided into 2 panchayats: *Punnapra North *Punnapra South History ''Punnapra'' was part of the princely state of Travancore before the independence of India. In 1940s, Communist party developed a good influence among the workers in the coir industry and organised a strike for better wages. Sir C. P. Ramaswami Iyer, the diwan(prime minister) of Travancore intervened to resolve the labour issues, but situation worsened with the faction of workers demanding for ''Responsible Government'', a political move against the rule of Sir C. Alappuzha
Alappuzha or Alleppey () is the administrative headquarters of Alappuzha district in States and territories of India, state of Kerala, India. The Kerala Backwaters, Backwaters of Alappuzha are one of the most popular tourist attractions in India which attracts millions of domestic and international tourists. Nedumudi
Nedumudi is a village in the Alappuzha district of the Indian state of Kerala. It is the birthplace of Malayalam actor Nedumudi Venu. Nedumudi sits on the banks of the river Pamba River, Pamba. It was the first village in Kerala to attain 100% Literacy. Climate Nedumudi is part of the lower Kuttanadu. It experiences a moderate climate, though in autumn, the Pamba river overflows and creates trouble. This flooding makes the soil rich for agriculture, the main economic occupation in Nedumudi. But in 2010, due to the unexpected climate change, the chance of another agricultural season is getting impossible. The main celebration in the village is the annual festival of the Sree Bhagavathy temple, Kottaram. It is situated in Attuvathala. Punnapra South is a grama panchayat and part of Punnapra village, in Alappuzha district, Kerala Kerala ( ; ) is a state on the Malabar Coast of India. It was created by dividing the erstwhile Punnapra panchayath into north and south. The placename is much famous for the 1946 Punnapra-Vayalar revolt. Nearness to beach and presence of paddy fields makes here a place with rarest geography and hence one of the good places for sightseeing. The NH-47 and Ernakulam-Kayamkulam coastal railway line passes through Punnapra. There is a railway station at Punnapra.
