"Punk Rock Song" is a song written by Greg Graffin from the punk rock group Bad Religion. It was the second single from their 1996 album ''The Gray Race''. While the single never charted in the U.S., it is Bad Religion's highest charting single in Finland, Germany and Sweden. Single information The single was initially available in a number of different formats. A 7" single is gray marbled vinyl on Unplayable Records, and features two unreleased compositions "The Universal Cynic" and "The Dodo". A CD single also features the two unreleased tracks as well as "Punk Rock Song" sung in German and it has the lyrics to the two unreleased tracks plus the English and German lyrics to "Punk Rock Song". The "German language version" was also included as a bonus track on the European version of ''The Gray Race''. Bad Religion is an American punk rock band that formed in Los Angeles, California, in 1980. The band's lyrics cover topics related to religion, politics, society, the media and science. Bobby Schayer
Bobby Schayer (born December 23, 1966 in Los Angeles, California) was the drummer for Bad Religion from 1991 to 2001. He was a resident of Encino, a suburb in the San Fernando Valley. He started drumming in 1976 at the age of 10, but it was not until 1980 that he became a student of original Circle Jerks drummer Lucky Lehrer. Schayer has cited Tommy Ramone, Paul Cook, Clem Burke, Mick Tucker, Bun E. Carlos, Charlie Watts, and Keith Moon as some of his earliest drumming influences. He officially joined Bad Religion on April 1, 1991 after previous drummer, Peter Finestone, left the band after their fifth LP, '' Against the Grain''. He was present on their sixth LP, ''Generator'', in 1992. Brian Baker (musician)
Brian Baker (born February 25, 1965) is an American punk rock musician. He is best known as one of the founding members of the hardcore punk band Minor Threat, and as a guitarist in Bad Religion since 1994. In Minor Threat, he originally played bass guitar before switching to guitar in 1982 when Steve Hansgen joined the band, and then moved back to bass after Hansgen's departure. He also founded Dag Nasty in 1985, was part of the original line-up of Samhain, and has had stints in Doggy Style, The Meatmen (with fellow Minor Threat member Lyle Preslar), Government Issue, and Junkyard (a hard rock band). In 1994 Baker was offered a spot as a touring musician with R.E.M. but declined, opting instead to accept a position in Bad Religion as Brett Gurewitz's replacement. He also experimented with a more pop direction influenced by U2, with a band called 400.
