Punk (TV Series)
''Punk'' is an American four part documentary television series that ran from March 11 to April 1, 2019. on Epix. Premise ''Punk'' explores "the music, the fashion, the art and the DIY attitude of a subculture of self-described misfits and outcasts.". Each episode focuses on an individual era of punk, beginning with protopunk in the 1960s up until the present day. Production On December 10, 2018, it was announced that Epix had given the production a series order consisting of four episodes set to premiere on March 11, 2019. The series was expected to be directed by Jesse James Miller and executive produced by John Varvatos, Iggy Pop, and Derik Murray. Production companies involved with the series were slated to consist of Network Entertainment. Danny Fields
Danny Fields (born Daniel Feinberg; November 13, 1939) is an American music manager, publicist, journalist and author. As a music industry executive from the 1960s to the 1980s, he was one of the most influential figures in the history of punk rock. He signed and managed The Stooges, Iggy and the Stooges, signed the MC5 and managed the Ramones, and worked in various roles with Jim Morrison, the Velvet Underground and the Modern Lovers. In 2014 ''The New York Times'' said, "You could make a convincing case that without Danny Fields, punk rock would not have happened." Early life Fields was born to a Jewish family and grew up in Richmond Hill, Queens. After graduating Phi Beta Kappa from the University of Pennsylvania in 1959, he attended Harvard Law School, but left during his first year. Penelope Spheeris (born December 2, 1945 or 1946; sources differ) is an American film director, producer, and screenwriter. She has directed both documentary and scripted films. Her best-known works include the trilogy titled ''The Decline of Western Civilization'', each covering an aspect of Los Angeles underground culture, and ''Wayne's World'', her highest-grossing film.
