Pune Suburban Railway, (Marathi language, Marathi: पुणे उपनगरीय रेल्वे) also known as ''Pune Local'', is a suburban rail system connecting Pune to its suburbs and neighboring villages in Pune District, Maharashtra. It is operated by Central Railway zone, Central Railway (CR), part of Indian Railways. The system operates on two routes, – and its part –. 18 trains operate on – route and 5 trains operate on – route. Also, DEMU trains operate on –– route. History The 9-car services were operated till March 2009, when 12-car services were introduced. 13 car trains are also operated. Talegaon
Talegaon is a town on the outskirts of the city of Pune, India. Demographics At the 2001 Census of India, Talegaon Dabhade had a population of 42,574. Males constituted 53% of the population and females 47%. The average literacy rate was 79%, higher than the national average of 59.5%: male literacy was 83%, and female literacy was 75%. At that time, 11% of the population was under 6 years of age. At the 2011 Census of India, the village comprised 13,856 households. Pune Metro
Pune Metro is a  mass rapid transit system serving the city of Pune, India. The system comprises 3 lines with a combined length of 54.58 km, of which 12 km on two lines are operational as of March 2022. The 16.59-km Purple line from PCMC Bhavan to Swargate runs on an elevated viaduct between PCMC Bhavan to Range Hills, from where it goes underground. The Aqua line runs from Vanaz to Ramwadi covering a distance of 14.66 km on an elevated viaduct. The 23.33-km elevated Line 3 will run from the Rajiv Gandhi Infotech Park in Hinjawadi via Balewadi to Civil Court. All three lines will align at the Civil Court interchange station. The foundation stone for the Purple and Aqua lines was laid by the Prime Minister of India in December 2016. New Pune International Airport
Chhatrapati Sambhaji Raje International Airport is a proposed greenfield airport project to serve the city of Pune, India. It will be built near Saswad and Jejuri in Purandar taluka of Pune District in the Indian state of Maharashtra. The proposed airport will be spread over 2,400 hectares. The Government of Maharashtra has declared that the first flight from this airport is expected to take off by 2019 and the airport will be named after the King of Maratha Empire " Sambhaji Maharaj "who was born at Purandar fort. The CIDCO will hold a 51 percent stake in the SPV, while MADC's stake will be around 19 percent. Rajgurunagar (Khed) is a census town in the Pune Metropolitan Region of the Indian state of Maharashtra. It is situated on the bank of river Bhima and Pune-Nasik National Highway It is the headquarters of Khed taluka in the Pune district. Etymology The town was known by the name Khed in the past. In the 1960s the name was changed to Rajgurunagar in honour of Indian freedom fighter, Shivaram Rajguru, who was born there. Daund
Daund is a city, municipal council and headquarters of the Daund tehsil in the Pune district in the state of Maharashtra, India. In ancient times a sage, 'Dhaumya Rishi' used to stay here, hence people started calling this place after him: 'Dhaum'. Gradually 'Dhaum' became 'Dhoand', then 'Dhaundh'.
