Pune Metropolitan Area
Pune Metropolitan Region (PMR) is the metropolitan region around the city of Pune. According to practical purposes, PMR comprises two Municipal Corporations of PMC, PCMC and three Cantonment Boards, spread over an area of 7,256.46 km2. The population of the region as per 2011 census was 7,541,946. The Pune Metropolitan Region Development Authority (PMRDA) is the planning and development authority of the region formed. PMRDA is headed by the Chief Minister of Maharashtra, Eknath Shinde. Suhas Diwase, IAS, is the chief executive officer. The authority is responsible for various town planning schemes, Pune Ring Road as well as Pune Metro (Line 3). Jurisdiction PMR is spread over 3 talukas of the Pune district. Pune Metropolitan Region Development Authority is the planning and development authority for the Pune Metropolitan Region. It was notified in the year 2015 and has a jurisdictional area of with a population of (approximately), making it the 2nd largest urban unit in Maharashtra. The authority covers the entire talukas of Pune, Maval, Mulshi, Haveli and parts of Bhor, Daund, Shirur, Khed, Purandar and Velhe. Khadki
Khadki is a cantonment in the city of Pune, India. It has now flourished as a quasi-metropolis & centered in the northern region of the city. Description Khadki could be considered an Indian Army base, along with an ordnance factory consisting of two ammunition factories, a Military Vehicle Depot (Central Armed Forces Vehicle Depot, CAFVD) and the Military Dairy Farm. Referred to previously as Kirkee during the British Raj, its borders are flanked by two other large army establishments—the College of Military Engineering at Dapodi and the Bombay Engineering Group. Cantt, also known as Camp, is a military cantonment located in the city of Pune, India. It was established in 1817 for accommodating troops of the Indian Army. The cantonment houses many military establishments. It is also known for its shopping locations, MG Road and East Street. Dehu Road Cantt, is a military cantonment in the city of Pune, India which was established in October 1958. The Dehu Ordnance Depot and Dehu Ammunition Depot was setup in the 1940s. Pimpri Chinchwad, Pune is the northwestern city limits of Pune, India. Geographically, it is located at an altitude above sea level, at a distance of about northwest of its historic centre. The neighbourhood is home to extensive industry and is well known for its automotive, IT and manufacturing industry. Pune Metro
Pune Metro is a mass rapid transit system serving the city of Pune, India. The system comprises 3 lines with a combined length of 54.58 km, of which 12 km on two lines are operational as of March 2022. The 16.59-km Purple line from PCMC Bhavan to Swargate runs on an elevated viaduct between PCMC Bhavan to Range Hills, from where it goes underground. The Aqua line runs from Vanaz to Ramwadi covering a distance of 14.66 km on an elevated viaduct. The 23.33-km elevated Line 3 will run from the Rajiv Gandhi Infotech Park in Hinjawadi via Balewadi to Civil Court. All three lines will align at the Civil Court interchange station.
