Pulat Habibullayev
Pulat Qirgizboyevich Habibullayev ( uz, Poʻlat Qirgʻizboyevich Habibullayev, russian: Пулат Киргизбаевич Хабибуллаев, ''Pulat Kirgizbaevich Khabibullaev''; 14 October 1936 — 7 February 2010) was an Uzbek physicist and politician who served as President of the Academy of Sciences of Uzbekistan, Academy of Sciences of the Uzbek SSR from 1984 to 1988. In addition to his academic positions, he held a variety of high government offices, including being the Chairman of the Supreme Soviet of the Uzbek Soviet Socialist Republic, Presidium of the Supreme Soviet of the Uzbek SSR from 1988 to 1989. Early life Born on 14 October 1936 in Asaka district to an Uzbek family. His mother Soliyakhon Tashlanova was very active in Uzbek society, leading a cotton kolkhoz. Kliment Yefremovich Voroshilov (, uk, Климент Охрімович Ворошилов, ''Klyment Okhrimovyč Vorošylov''), popularly known as Klim Voroshilov (russian: link=no, Клим Вороши́лов, ''Klim Vorošilov''; 4 February 1881 – 2 December 1969), was a prominent Soviet military officer and politician during the Stalin era. The majority of the articles in the ''National Encyclopedia'' were directly taken from the '' Uzbek Soviet Encyclopedia''. While the ''Uzbek Soviet Encyclopedia'' was published in 14 volumes, the ''National Encyclopedia of Uzbekistan'' has only 12, much smaller volumes. The first volume of the ''National Encyclopedia'' was published in 2000. The final 12th volume was published in 2005. Joseph Vissarionovich Stalin (born Ioseb Besarionis dze Jughashvili; – 5 March 1953) was a Georgian revolutionary and Soviet political leader who led the Soviet Union from 1924 until his death in 1953.
