Puk Lyng Thomsen
Puk Lyng Thomsen (born 15 April 1998) is a Danish professional golfer. As an amateur she won the 2017 French Ladies Amateur and finished second individually in the 2016 Espirito Santo Trophy. Amateur career Thomsen was born in Frederikshavn in 1998 and started playing golf when she was seven years old. At the age of 13, she was picked for the national team. By the time she accepted a golf scholarship to Florida State University in 2018, she was one of the most accomplished junior golfers in the world, and at 17th spot in the World Amateur Golf Rankings one of the top ranked players to ever sign for Florida State University. Thomsen won the Danish Junior Matchplay Championship in 2011 and won her first international tournament in 2012, the Öijared Junior Open in Sweden. Frederikshavn () is a Danish town in Frederikshavn municipality, Region Nordjylland, on the northeast coast of the Jutland peninsula in northern Denmark. Its name translates to "Frederik's harbor". The Patsy Hankins Trophy is a women's amateur golf competition on the model of the Ryder Cup, corresponding to the men's Bonallack Trophy. The competition opposes every two years a European team and a team representing Asia/Pacific, and the venue alternates between courses in Europe and Asia/Pacific. The Trophy is named after Patsy Hankins (1945–2015), one of the most respected golf administrators New Zealand has produced. Veronika Beatrice Wallin (born 5 April 1999) is a Swedish professional golfer. She won the 2016 Annika Invitational Europe and won the European Ladies' Team Championship in 2018, 2019 and 2020. Early life and amateur career Before focusing on golf Wallin was a swimmer, inspired by her father Christer Wallin who represented Sweden in the 1988, 1992 and 1996 Summer Olympics, winning silver medals in Barcelona (1992) and Atlanta (1996). Malene Krølbøll Hansen (born 1995) is a Danish professional golfer who plays on the Symetra Tour. Amateur career Krølbøll played for the National Team and represented Denmark in two European Girls' Team Championships and six European Ladies' Team Championships between 2011 and 2018, with best result a bronze medal in 2012. The Vagliano Trophy is a biennial women's amateur golf tournament. It is co-organised by The R&A and the European Golf Association and is contested by teams representing "Great Britain and Ireland" and the "Continent of Europe". It is played in odd-numbered years; the Curtis Cup being played in even-numbered years. The event started in 1931 as a match between Great Britain and France. It was played annually from 1931 to 1939 and from 1947 to 1949, before becoming a biennial event from 1949 to 1957. Britain won 15 of the 16 matches with the 1934 match being tied. From 1949 to 1957 Great Britain had also played a biennial match against Belgium.
