Puerto Rico At The 2015 Pan American Games
Puerto Rico competed in the 2015 Pan American Games in Toronto, Canada, from July 10 to 26, 2015. Unlike the 2011 Pan American games, Puerto Rico did not perform well, earning only 1 gold and silver each, and 13 bronze medals. Puerto Rico Olympic Committee
The Puerto Rico Olympic Committee (COPUR, es, Comité Olímpico de Puerto Rico) is the National Olympic Committee for Puerto Rico. It oversees Olympic-sports in Puerto Rico, and selects the Olympic team which represents the island. It was founded by Julio Enrique Monagas, and was officially recognized in 1948. COPUR operates the ''Casa Olímpica'', its headquarters in Old San Juan. Teams representing Puerto Rico have participated in every Summer Olympics since 1948. Cycling competitions at the 2015 Pan American Games in Toronto were held July 10 to 25, 2015 at four different venues. The BMX competitions took place at the Centennial Park Pan Am BMX Centre in Toronto, the mountain biking competitions happened at the Hardwood Ski and Bike (Hardwood Mountain Bike Park) in Oro-Medonte, due to naming rights the venue was known as the latter for the duration of the games. Table tennis competitions at the 2015 Pan American Games in Toronto were held from July 19 to 25 at the Markham Pan Am Centre (Atos Markham Pan Am Centre) in Markham. Swimming competitions at the 2015 Pan American Games in Toronto will be held from July 14 to 18 at the Toronto Pan Am Sports Centre (CIBC Pan Am/Parapan Am Aquatics Centre and Field House). Originally the 400 meters oval would be constructed at CIBC Pan Am/Parapan Am Aquatics Centre and Field House and meant to be temporary but a last minute venue change to St. John Paul II Catholic Secondary School meant that the high school got to keep the track after the competition.
