''Public Enemy Number One'' is a 2019 American documentary film directed by Robert Rippberger and produced by Robert Rippberger, Chris Chiari, and Ice-T. It looks at the war on drugs from 1968 until today and looks at trigger points in history that took cannabis from being a somewhat benign criminal activity into a self-perpetuating constantly expanding policy disaster. The film won Best Documentary Feature at the Seattle Film Festival, and Storyteller Award and Best Producer at Doc LA - Los Angeles Documentary Film Festival. Robert Rippberger
Robert Rippberger is an American film director, film producer, and screenwriter. He is the writer/director of ''Those Who Walk Away (film)'' starring BooBoo Stewart, the director/producer of ''Strive (film), Strive'' with Danny Glover, the director of the feature documentary Public Enemy Number One (film) from Executive Producer Ice-T, and director/producer of the Hulu released documentary 7 Days in Syria. Robert executive produced with Jason Blum the feature documentary Alive and Kicking (2016 film), Alive and Kicking. The film was sold to Magnolia Pictures and Netflix after its debut at the 2016 SXSW Film Festival, where it received a Grand Jury nomination. Rony Barrak is a Lebanese musician (Darbouka player) and composer. Rony Barrak held his first Darbouka (Middle Eastern tabla) at the age of four and began playing it intuitively. Led by early self-confidence, he made his first TV performance at the age of seven. At the age of 17, Rony distinguished himself in the world of music by winning the Gold Medal in a competition on the Lebanese Broadcasting Corporation International (LBCI) television for talented young musicians in Lebanon and the Middle East. He moved to London in 1990, where he studied orchestral percussion and drum kit at the Guildhall School of Music and Drama and later taught Middle Eastern Percussion at Trinity College of Music.
