Pryazovskyi State Technical University
Pryazovskyi State Technical University () is a Ukrainian University in Mariupol. It is one of the oldest universities in the Donetsk Oblast. History PSTU was founded in November 1930 as a professional training school for the workers of ILYICH Iron & Steel Works. In 1933 it became Mariupol Metallurgical Institute. From 1948 until 1989 it was Zhdanov Metallurgical Institute. From 1989 – 1993 it again became Mariupol Metallurgical Institute. The Postgraduate Department was established in 1960. In 1993 PSTU received university status via Resolution no. 956 and became Pryazovskyi State Technical University. Since 2009 its official name is State Higher Education Institution “Pryazovskyi State Technical University”. Campuses and buildings Block 1 houses University administration offices. Vyacheslav S. Voloshyn (born September 11, 1952, Brody, Lviv Oblast) is a Ukrainian scientist, Doktor nauk, Professor, head of the Department of Labor Protection and Environmental of the Priazovsky State Technical University, rector of the Pryazovskyi State Technical University since 2003. Biography Vyacheslav Voloshyn was born on September 11, 1952. In 1975 he graduated from Zhdanov Metallurgical Institute, and in 1979 he completed a post-graduate course at the same Institute. Since 1979 he has worked at Pryazovskyi State Technical University (Zhdanov Metallurgical Institute): until 1984 as Junior Researcher, then Assistant (1984–1988); Associate Professor (1988–1990) and Professor (1990–1992), Dean of the Energy Faculty (1992–1994), and since 1994 head of the Department of Labor Protection and Environment and Vice President for Academic Affairs (1995–2003). Mariupol (, ; uk, Маріу́поль ; russian: Мариу́поль) is a city in Donetsk Oblast, Ukraine. It is situated on the northern coast (Pryazovia) of the Sea of Azov, at the mouth of the Kalmius River. Victor Nilsen
Victor Alexandrovich Nilsen (russian: Виктор Александрович Нильсен, born in 1871 in Saint Petersburg ; died in 1949 in Dushanbe) was an engineer, city architect of Mariupol from 1901 to 1917 and publicist and a deputy in the Mariupol Duma (city council). History Nilsen was a man of Danish and German origin. Victor had two brothers and a sister. He studied in St. Petersburg, where he graduated from the Institute of Engineers. He began to work as an architect and engineer in the city of Rybinsk on the Volga. In 1900 he was appointed by the mayor of Mariupol Ivan Alexeyevich Popov as architect of the city of Mariupol. The predecessors were Samuel Jossipovitch Ber and Adolf Gustavovitch Emerik. The architect Victor Nilsen designed and built the Saints Constantine and Helen Church between 1903 and 1911. Petro Yukhymovych Shelestrussian: Пётр Ефи́мович Ше́лест, translit=Pyotr Yefimovich Shelest (14 February 190822 January 1996) was a Ukrainian Soviet politician. First Secretary of the Communist Party of the Ukrainian Soviet Socialist Republic, a member of the Politburo of the Communist Party of the Soviet Union and a deputy of the Supreme Soviet of the Ukrainian SSR. Early career Petro Shelest was born in a Ukrainian peasant family in a village near Kharkiv in 1908. He studied engineering in Kharkiv, and held industrial jobs between 193 and 1936. In 1928 he joined the Communist Party of the Soviet Union (CPSU) and in 1935 graduated from Mariupol Metallurgical Institute. He served in the Red Army from 1936 to 1937, but transferred to working for the Communist Party in 1937, as thousands of its members were caught up in the Great Purge.
