Pryazovskyi National Nature Park
Pryazovskyi National Nature Park ( uk, Приазовський національний природний парк) is the second largest national park of Ukraine, covering the estuaries, coastal plains seaside landforms around the Molochna River estuary the Utlyuksky estuary, on the northwest coast of the Sea of Azov. The area is one of high biodiversity, protecting both steppe and aquatic habitats, and the unique transition zones in between. The wetlands support very large populations of nesting and migratory waterfowl. The park is crosses several administrative districts, including Pryazovske Raion, Melitopol Raion, Berdiansk Raion, and Yakymivka Raion in Zaporizhzhia Oblast. Topography Pryazovsky is a coastal strip on the northwest of the Azov Sea, about 20 miles south of the city of Melitopol. The area's estuaries (limans) are about 80% land and 20% water. Zaporizhzhia Oblast ( uk, Запорі́зька о́бласть, translit=Zaporizka oblast), also referred to as Zaporizhzhia ( uk, Запорі́жжя, links=no), is an oblast (province) of southeast Ukraine. Biryuchyi Island
Byriuchyi Island ( uk, Бирючий Острів, ) is a spit (former island) in the northwestern part of the Sea of Azov, Azov Sea, expanded southern part of the :uk:Федотова коса, Fedotova Spit. Together with the narrow northern part of the Fedotova Spit, Byriuchyi Island forms the :uk:Утлюцький лиман, Utljuk Lyman separating it from the sea from the east. Until 1929, the current Spit was an island, separated from the northern part of the Fedotova Spit by a narrow strait. It belongs to Kherson Oblast of Ukraine. It has no direct land connection with the main territory of the Oblast — they are separated by the Utljuk Lyman. Its length is about 11 nautical miles, the width is about 3 nautical miles, and its area is 27.92 square miles. On the northwestern and western shores of the Spit, there are several shallow bays and estuaries.
