Provincial Assembly Of Gandaki Province
The Provincial Assembly of Gandaki Province also known as the Gandaki Province Sabha, (Nepali: गण्डकी प्रदेश सभा) is a unicameral governing and law making body of Gandaki Province, one of the seven provinces in Nepal. The assembly is seated at the provincial capital Pokhara in Kaski District at the Urban Development Training Centre. The assembly has 60 members of whom 36 are elected through first-past-the-post voting and 24 of whom are elected through proportional representation. The term of the assembly is five years until dissolved earlier. The present First Provincial Assembly was constituted in 2017, after the 2017 provincial elections. The next election will take place when the five year term ends by November 2022. The second Gandaki Provincial Assembly was elected by the 2022 Nepalese provincial elections, 2022 provincial elections on 20 November 2022. 60 members were elected to the assembly, 36 of whom were elected through Direct election, direct elections and 24 of whom were elected through the party list proportional representation system. Provinces Of Nepal
The provinces of Nepal ( ne, नेपालका प्रदेशहरू, translit=Nepālkā Pradeśharū) were formed on 20 September 2015 in accordance with Schedule 4 of the Constitution of Nepal. The seven provinces were formed by grouping the existing List of districts in Nepal, districts. The current system of seven provinces replaced an earlier system where Nepal was divided into 14 List of zones of Nepal, administrative zones which were grouped into five Development regions of Nepal, development regions. Provincial Assemblies Of Nepal
The Provincial Assembly ( ne, प्रदेश सभा; ''Pradesh Sabha'') is the unicameral legislative assembly for a federal province of Nepal. According to Article 176 of the Constitution of Nepal 2015, following the dissolution of the provincial assembly all the members forming the Provincial Assembly are elected. The term for the Provincial Assembly is five years, except when dissolved earlier. Candidates for each constituency are chosen by the political parties or stand as independents. Each constituency elects one member under the first past the post system of election. Since Nepal uses a parallel voting system, voters cast another ballot to elect members through the party-list proportional representation. The Communist Party of Nepal (Unified Socialist) (), abbreviated as CPN (Unified Socialist) is a political party in Nepal. 2022 Nepalese General Election
General elections are expected to be held in Nepal in November 2022 unless the House of Representatives is dissolved earlier. The discussion is underway due to interest of leading Nepali Congress while the opposition, CPN (UML), is already demanding a fresh mandate. Dissolution and reinstatement Although the House was dissolved on 20 December 2020 by President Bidya Devi Bhandari on the recommendation of the Council of Ministers, with elections scheduled for 30 April and 10 May 2021, the legitimacy of the dissolution was challenged in the Supreme Court. Prithvi Subba Gurung ( ne, पृथ्वी सुब्बा गुरुङ) is a Nepalese politician and former Chief Minister of Gandaki Province, a province in western Nepal. He is presently the leader of opposition in Gandaki. He was member of the 1st Nepalese Constituent Assembly and Minister of Culture, Tourism and Civil Aviation, Nepal. He was unanimously selected Parliamentary Party leader of CPN (UML) for Gandaki Province on 11 February 2018.
