Provencher is a federal electoral district in Manitoba, Canada, that has been represented in the House of Commons of Canada since 1871. It is a largely rural district in the province's southeast corner. Its largest community is the city of Steinbach. Geography The district is in the most southeastern part of Manitoba. Powerview-Pine Falls, Manitoba
Powerview-Pine Falls is a town in the Canadian province of Manitoba, with a population of 1,314 at the 2011 census, up 1.54% from 1,294 at the 2006 census and down 7.57% from 1,400 during the 2001 census. The town is an amalgamation of the previous town of Powerview with the previously unincorporated area of Pine Falls, to its west. The town borders the Rural Municipality of Alexander and the Sagkeeng First Nation Indian reserve. Manitoba Highway 11 and Manitoba Provincial Road 304 are the major roads connecting Powerview with other nearby communities. History The community was created as a paper mill town in the mid 1920s as Manitoba Pulp and Paper Company. The company was sold to Abitibi Paper Company and became Pine Falls Paper Group in 1995 after employee buyout; finally, it sold to Tembec in 1998. Rural Municipality Of Stuartburn
Stuartburn is a rural municipality (RM) located in the Eastman Region of Manitoba, Canada. It had a population of 1,629 according to the Canada 2006 Census. The municipality is named after the Ukrainian-Canadian village of Stuartburn within the RM, supposedly named for an early settler called William H. Stuart. History The first settlers to the area of current-day Stuartburn arrived in August 1896 from Ukraine. This first settlement consisted of 26 families, followed by other groups from Ukraine in subsequent months. The settlement expanded eastward and northward, and by the end of 1900, the number of settlers reached approximately 3000. The first Ukrainian Orthodox Church was built in the vicinity of Gardenton in 1897; and the first Ukrainian Catholic Church began construction in 1899 and completed in 1902 in the vicinity of Stuartburn. St-Pierre-Jolys (formerly ''Rivière-aux-Rats''/Rat River, ''St-Pierre''/St. Pierre) is a village in the Canadian province of Manitoba, located southeast of Winnipeg on Highway 59 near the Rat River.
