Provencher is a federal electoral district in Manitoba, Canada, that has been represented in the House of Commons of Canada since 1871. Niverville is a town in the Eastman Region, Manitoba, Canada. The town lies between the northwest corner of the Rural Municipality of Hanover and the southeastern portion of the Rural Municipality of Ritchot. Niverville's population as of the 2021 census is 5,947, the largest town and 10th-largest community in Manitoba. History In 1874, after the establishment of the Mennonite East Reserve, William Hespeler, who had recruited Mennonites to the area, saw the opportunity to develop a rail station to supply the new Mennonite settlements, at a location selected by railway tycoon Joseph Whitehead. Initially the town that grew up around the station was named Hespeler, but eventually became known by the name of the railway station, Niverville, after 18th-century explorer and fur trader Chevalier Joseph Boucher de Niverville. Steinbach () ( Plautdietsch: /ˈʃte̞nbah/ or /ˈʃte̞nbax/) is a city located about south-east of Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada. Steinbach is the third-largest city in Manitoba, with a population of 17,806, and the largest community in the Eastman region. St-Pierre-Jolys (formerly ''Rivière-aux-Rats''/Rat River, ''St-Pierre''/St. Pierre) is a village in the Canadian province of Manitoba, located southeast of Winnipeg on Highway 59 near the Rat River. La Broquerie is a local urban district in the Rural Municipality of La Broquerie, Manitoba, Canada. It is a predominantly Francophone community located approximately 10 kilometres east of Steinbach, Manitoba and 70 kilometres southeast of the provincial capital Winnipeg, at the confluence of Highways 52, 210, and 302. For most of the community’s history, La Broquerie has been ranked as Manitoba’s largest dairy producer. A distinctive display at the south entrance to the community features a moderately sized, decorative cow. The area's geography makes it attractive to winter sports. One can snowmobile and cross-country ski along the nature trails in the town as well as throughout the entire Sandilands Provincial Forest area. Rural Municipality Of Stuartburn
Stuartburn is a rural municipality (RM) located in the Eastman Region of Manitoba, Canada. It had a population of 1,629 according to the Canada 2006 Census. The municipality is named after the Ukrainian-Canadian village of Stuartburn within the RM, supposedly named for an early settler called William H. Stuart. History The first settlers to the area of current-day Stuartburn arrived in August 1896 from Ukraine. This first settlement consisted of 26 families, followed by other groups from Ukraine in subsequent months. The settlement expanded eastward and northward, and by the end of 1900, the number of settlers reached approximately 3000.
