Provatas
Provatas (Greek: Προβατάς) is a larger village in Kapetan Mitrousi, Serres regional unit, northern Greece. It has 1,099 inhabitants (2011 census). Until 1923, the village was called ''Yenikoi'' or ''Yeniköy'' and inhabited mostly by Turks and Bulgarians. Kapetan Mitrousi
Kapetan Mitrousi ( el, Καπετάν Μητρούσι) is a former municipality in the Serres regional unit, Greece. Since the 2011 local government reform it is part of the municipality Serres, of which it is a municipal unit. It is located in the west-central part of the Serres regional unit and has a population of 5,325 inhabitants (2011 census) and a land area of 87.485 km². The seat of the municipality was the town of Provatas (pop. 1,099). Serres ( el, Περιφερειακή ενότητα Σερρών) is one of the regional units of Greece, in the geographic region of Macedonia. It is part of the Region of Central Macedonia. Its capital is the city of Serres. The total population reaches just over 175,000. 10th (Irish) Division
The 10th (Irish) Division, was one of the first of Kitchener's New Army K1 Army Group divisions (formed from Kitchener's 'first hundred thousand' new volunteers), authorized on 21 August 1914, after the outbreak of the Great War.
