Protomelas Fenestratus
The fenestratus (''Protomelas fenestratus'') is a species of cichlid fish endemic to Lake Malawi in East Africa. This species can reach a length of TL. It can also be found in the aquarium trade. Protomelas fenestratus is a substrate blower. They blow away the substrate, to uncover insect larvae and crustaceans. ''Protomelas taeniolatus'' (often sold under various trade names: ''Haplochromis'' red empress, red empress or spindle hap) is a Haplochromine cichlid endemic to Lake Malawi in Eastern Africa. The fish is popular in the aquarium hobby due to the bright rainbow-like colors of adult males and its relatively peaceful temperament. Juvenile and female ''P. taeniolatus'', like many Haplochromines, do not display bright coloration. The red empress is endemic to Lake Malawi and occurs in sediment free, rocky habitats in relatively shallow waters. George Albert Boulenger
George Albert Boulenger (19 October 1858 – 23 November 1937) was a Belgian-British zoologist who described and gave scientific names to over 2,000 new animal species, chiefly fish, reptiles, and amphibians. Boulenger was also an active botanist during the last 30 years of his life, especially in the study of roses. Life Boulenger was born in Brussels, Belgium, the only son of Gustave Boulenger, a Belgian public notary, and Juliette Piérart, from Valenciennes.
