Protestant Hospital Of Ngaoundéré
The Protestant Hospital of Ngaoundéré is a Protestant hospital in N'Gaoundere, Cameroon. Founded by Norwegian missionaries of the Norwegian Missionary Society in 1925, and partly funded by a wealthy American donator in Cameroon and the Evangelical Lutheran Church of Cameroon, the hospital has been in full operation since 1957. The Protestant Hospital of Ngaoundéré today employs over 127 people. History In 1931 Norwegian missionaries Mr and Mrs Endressen arrived at Ngaoundéré from Madagascar. Mr. Endressen was pastor while his wife is a nurse. They began medical work, visiting patients at home and treating them. Given the number of patients who came to her, she had to ask the mission to build a room where she could hospitalize those who required a formal observation. Ngaoundéré
Ngaoundéré, or N'Gaoundéré (Fula: N'gamdere 𞤲'𞤺𞤢𞤥𞤣𞤫𞥅𞤪𞤫𞥅) is the capital of the Adamawa Region of Cameroon. It had a population of 152,700 at the 2005 census. According to the film ''Les Mairuuwas – Maitre de l'eau'' produced by the University of Tromsø, the population has rapidly risen to 1,000,000 (as of October 2016) owing to mass immigration from the Central African Republic and the perceived danger from Boko Haram in northern Cameroon. The city lies at the northern end of the railway to Yaoundé and is also home to Ngaoundéré Airport. Attractions in the city include the Lamido Palace and the Lamido Grand Mosque. The town is named after a nearby mountain on its eponymous plateau; the mountain's name is the Mbum word for "navel mountain". Yaoundé
Yaoundé (; , ) is the capital of Cameroon and, with a population of more than 2.8 million, the second-largest city in the country after the port city Douala. It lies in the Centre Region of the nation at an elevation of about 750 metres (2,500 ft) above sea level. The outpost of Epsumb or Jeundo was founded between the Nyong and Sanaga rivers at the northern edge of the area's forests in 1887 by German explorers as a trading base for rubber and ivory. A military garrison was built in 1895 which enabled further colonization. After Imperial Germany's defeat in World War I, France held eastern Cameroon as a mandate, and Yaoundé was chosen to become the capital of the colony in 1922.
