Charles A. Prosser Career Academy (formerly known as Charles A. Prosser Vocational High School) is a public 4–year vocational high school located in the Belmont Cragin neighborhood on the northwest side of Chicago, Illinois, United States. Prosser opened in 1959 and is operated by the Chicago Public Schools district. History Prosser opened in September 1959 for males only, first enrolling females in the 1975-76 school year. Prior to the summer of 1998 the school's name was Prosser Vocational High School. The school is named for Charles Allen Prosser, an educator who pioneered vocational education. Curriculum During their first year, Prosser students enroll in the Freshman Academy, which eases the transition into high school. Students sign up in 8th grade if they want to be in the International Baccalaureate program. From there they can decide if they want to go to the IBDP or IBCP. Delia Ramirez
Delia Catalina Ramirez (born June 2, 1983) is an American politician serving as U.S. representative from Illinois's 3rd congressional district since 2023. She also served as a member of the Illinois House of Representatives for the 4th district from 2018 to 2023. Eddie Winters is an American police officer and politician. Winters received his bachelor's degree in professional studies/business administration from Roosevelt University. He served in the Chicago Police Department for eighteen years. From September 2012 to January 2013, Winters served in the Illinois House of Representatives and was a Democratic Party (United States), Democrat. He was appointed to the Illinois General Assembly after the incumbent Derrick Smith (politician), Derrick Smith was expelled from the Illinois General Assembly after being convicted of bribery. John Wayne Gacy
John Wayne Gacy (March 17, 1942 – May 10, 1994) was an American serial killer and sex offender who raped, tortured, and murdered at least 33 young men and boys. Gacy regularly performed at children's hospitals and charitable events as "Pogo the Clown" or "Patches the Clown", personas he had devised. He became known as the Killer Clown due to his public services as a clown prior to the discovery of his crimes. Gacy committed all of his murders inside his ranch-style house near Norridge, a village in Norwood Park Township in suburban Chicago. Charles Allen Prosser
Charles Allen Prosser (1871–1952) was the Father of Vocational Education in the United States and the architect of the 1917 Smith-Hughes Act. His mission in life was to help improve the education of American children. Biography Charles Allen Prosser was born the son of a steel worker on September 20, 1871 in New Albany, Indiana.
