Prospect is a suburb of Sydney, in the state of New South Wales, Australia. Prospect is located 32 kilometres west of the Sydney central business district in the local government area of the City of Blacktown and is part of the Greater Western Sydney region. One of the oldest suburbs in Sydney, Prospect takes its name from the prominent nearby landmark of Prospect Hill - from the top of which people could ''get a prospect of'' (see a great distance) the surrounding countryside. Oughterside and Allerby is a civil parish in Allerdale district, Cumbria, England. In the 2011 census it had a population of 619. The north western boundary of the parish is a short stretch of coast, then, working clockwise, the parish is bordered by Hayton and Mealo to the north, Aspatria to the north east, Plumbland to the south east, Gilcrux to the south and Crosscanonby to the south west. The A596 road from Aspatria to Maryport passes through the parish, and the B5300 road follows its coastline in the north west. Prospect is a Canadian coastal community on the Chebucto Peninsula in Nova Scotia, Canada within the Halifax Regional Municipality. During the American Revolution, fishermen at Prospect captured an American Privateer and 23 crew members. In 2003, the town was hit by the eye of Hurricane Juan.
