Proserpine State High School
Proserpine State High School (established in 1963) is a public high school in the town of Proserpine in Queensland, Australia. History Campus The school was established in 1963. Since then, several buildings have been refurbished and a number of new structures have been erected but the school still retains a lot of its original façades and layout. The school contains many lettered blocks, starting from A block right up to O block. N block is the area of the school where the grade 7s are, O block grade 8s, D block grade 9s and A block grades 10–12. Over the last two decades, significant investment has occurred at the school, on 13 March 2019 a new $20 million upgrade and expansion was launched by Education Minister Grace Grace. Proserpine () is a rural town and locality in the Whitsunday Region, Queensland, Australia. In the , the locality of Proserpine had a population of 3,562 people. Geography Proserpine is situated on the Bruce Highway. Proserpine is located on the North Coast line with Proserpine railway station located in Hinschen Street in the town centre. The town is located along the banks of the Proserpine River and is immediately surrounded by floodplains used for sugarcane and cattle farming. Clarke Range is located to the west, Dryander National Park is to the north, and to the east is Conway National Park. The Clarke Range to the west of the town contains the small former gold mining town of Dittmer. Ignazia Graziella "Grace" Grace (née Farfaglia; born 12 August 1958) is an Australian politician from the state of Queensland. She has been a member of the Legislative Assembly of Queensland for the seat of McConnel and its predecessor seat, Brisbane Central, for all but two years since 2007. She is a member of the Labor Party. Grace was born in Brisbane, Queensland, the daughter of an Italian migrant cane cutter.
