Proper Dos
Proper Dos is an American hip hop group formed in early 90s in California, composed of rapper Frank Villareal and producer Ernie Gonzalez. The duo released their debut album, ''Mexican Power'', in 1992 through Skanless Records, which peaked at #32 on the ''Billboard'' Top Heatseekers. Their second album, ''We're at It Again'', was released in 1995, followed by ''Heat'' in 1998 and ''Overdose'' in 1999. A street-style group, Proper Dos' main lyricist is Frank Villareal. However, Proper Dos has also had help on some recordings by special guests including Big Shady, Lil Rob, Point Blank, Royal T, Knightowl and others. The release of ''Mexican Power'' was supported by several singles, including "One Summer Night", "Life of a Gangster", "No Turning Back" and "Hard Time". Proper Dos recorded a number of additional singles and released ''We're at It Again'' through Skanless Records in 1995. Roberto L. Flores (born September 21, 1975), better known by his stage name Lil Rob, is an American rapper, producer, and actor. Biography Flores was born in San Diego and raised in La Colonia de Eden Gardens, a Mexican American neighborhood in Solana Beach, California. He loved 80s funk bands such as the Gap Band and the S.O.S. Band. In the early 1990s, he began performing under the name Lil Rob & the Brown Crowd, and recorded a single titled "Oh, What a Night in the 619". Though it did not chart, it was later featured on his 1997 debut album '' Crazy Life'', with the title shortened to "Oh, What a Night". In 1994, his chin was shattered when he was shot in the jaw and in the eye later. Knightowl (sometimes styled as Mr. Knightowl) (May 13, 1966 – February 11, 2022), born Ramon Corona, was a Mexican-born American rapper. He began recording in 1993. His fame came with the hit singles ''Daddy I'm In Love With a Gangsta'' and ''Here Comes The Knightowl''. Career Knightowl originally signed with Columbia Records, but quickly decided to start his own record label, calling it "Sawed Off Records." Mark Taylor, professionally known as Royal-T, is a British UK garage, bassline and grime DJ and music producer from Southampton. He is signed to Butterz and Rinse Recordings. Taylor was spotted in 2010 by Butterz label founders Elijah and Skilliam via the website Grime Forum. He later caught the attention of Rinse FM and started a regular 2-hour show on the station. In 2012, as well as remixes for DJ Zinc and Katy B's single "Easy Please Me", he released his first album on the Rinse Recordings label.
