Prometheus Entertainment
Prometheus Entertainment is an American production company, specializing in documentary, reality, and non-fiction television programming and specials. History Prometheus Entertainment was formed in March 1999 by Kevin Burns. It was housed at Fox Television Studios and was originally slated to produce scripted entertainment for Fox, focused on documentaries and non-fiction. In 2002, Prometheus Entertainment developed a revival of ''Playboy After Dark''. In 2008, it signed a deal with the Travel Channel to produce 23 hours' worth of new shows. Their documentary '' Star Wars: The Legacy Revealed'' was nominated for three Emmy Awards. A production company, production house, production studio, or a production team is a studio that creates works in the fields of performing arts, new media art, film, television, radio, comics, interactive arts, video games, websites, music, and video. These groups consist of technical staff to produce the media, and are often incorporated as a commercial publisher. Generally the term refers to all individuals responsible for the technical aspects of creating a particular product, regardless of where in the process their expertise is required, or how long they are involved in the project. The Girls Next Door
''The Girls Next Door'' (also known as ''The Girls of the Playboy Mansion'') is a reality television series which focuses on the lives of Hugh Hefner's girlfriends who live with him at the Playboy Mansion. The series was created by executive producer Kevin Burns and Hefner, founder of ''Playboy'' magazine. The series premiered on the E! cable network on August 7, 2005 and ran for 6 seasons. The first five seasons centered around then-girlfriends, Holly Madison, Bridget Marquardt and Kendra Wilkinson. ''Hollywood Science'' is an Open University TV programme produced for the BBC, which attempted to determine whether or not scenes in various films were scientifically credible. In the show, presenter Robert Llewellyn and scientist Jonathan Hare look at the science behind a scene in a film. They experiment or perform calculations, to see how the scene would work in real life. The scene is then given an accuracy rating. The approach is similar to that of the Bad Astronomer, who also uses films as a vehicle to teach science. The presence of Robert Llewellyn means the tone of the show is fairly light-hearted. The show started in the BBC Learning Zone, a section of education programming broadcast in the early morning, meant to be recorded and watched later.
