Project Runway (season 5)
''Project Runway'' season 5 began filming the first week of June 2008 and premiered July 16, 2008 at 9:00 p.m. It was the final season of ''Project Runway'' that aired on Bravo. Subsequent seasons were shown on Lifetime. Returning as judges were supermodel Heidi Klum, fashion designer Michael Kors, and ''Elle'' editor-at-large Nina Garcia. Tim Gunn returned as a mentor to the designers. The final four designers all produced collections for Bryant Park Fashion Week. The winner of this season of Project Runway, Leanne Marshall, received an editorial feature in an issue of ''Elle'' magazine, a cash prize of $100,000 from TRESemmé hair care to start her own line, the opportunity to sell a fashion line on Bluefly.com, and a new 2009 Saturn Vue automobile. Jerell Scott and Kenley Collins later appeared in Project Runway: All Stars in 2012, with Jerell coming 5th, and Kenley 4th. Heidi Klum
Heidi Klum (; born 1 June 1973) is a German-American model, television host, producer, and businesswoman. She appeared on the cover of the ''Sports Illustrated Swimsuit Issue'' in 1998 and was the first German model to become a Victoria's Secret Angel. Following a successful modeling career, Klum became the host and a judge of ''Germany's Next Topmodel'' and the reality show ''Project Runway'', which earned her an Emmy nomination in 2008 and a win in 2013 for Outstanding Host for a Reality or Reality-Competition Program (shared with co-host Tim Gunn). Klum has been nominated for six Emmy Awards. She has worked as a spokesmodel for Dannon and H&M and has appeared in numerous commercials for McDonald's, Volkswagen and others. In 2009, Klum became Barbie's official ambassador on Barbie's 50th anniversary. Astoria, NY
Astoria is a neighborhood in the western portion of the New York City borough of Queens. Astoria is bounded by the East River and is adjacent to three other Queens neighborhoods: Long Island City to the southwest, Sunnyside to the southeast, and Woodside to the east. , Astoria has an estimated population of 95,446. The area was originally called Hallet's (or Hallett's) Cove after its first landowner William Hallet, who settled there in 1652 with his wife, Elizabeth Fones. Hallet's Cove was incorporated on April 12, 1839, and was later renamed for John Jacob Astor, then the wealthiest man in the United States, in order to persuade him to invest in the area. During the second half of the 19th century, economic and commercial growth brought increased immigration. Astoria and several other surrounding villages were incorporated into Long Island City in 1870, which in turn was incorporated into the City of Greater New York in 1898.
