Project Catwalk (series 1)
The first series of Project Catwalk was hosted by Elizabeth Hurley and featured 12 fashion designers in a competition finding who was the most talented. Kirsty Doyle won the competition, receiving a feature in the British version of Elle Magazine among other prizes. Project Catwalk
''Project Catwalk'' is a competitive reality television show focusing on fashion design. In the UK it is shown on the digital station Sky One. The show follows a group of fashion designers as they compete against each other to avoid being "the next fashion victim" and win the competition. The programme is based upon the US reality show ''Project Runway''. The show was cancelled after the third series. Format ''Project Catwalk'' is hosted by a celebrity and judged by a panel with two permanent judges and a third guest judge – typically a fashion designer, fashion model or celebrity from the fashion industry. Elizabeth Emanuel
Elizabeth Florence Emanuel (née Weiner, born 5 July 1953) is a British fashion designer who is best known for designing, with her former husband David Emanuel, the wedding dress worn by Lady Diana Spencer on her wedding to Prince Charles in 1981. Since then Elizabeth has developed her own label and worked in costume design for airlines, cinema, pop video and television productions, as well as providing a couture service to some of the world's most famous women. Richard Young (photographer)
Richard Young (born 1947) is an English society and celebrity photographer. His photography career started in 1974 and since then, he has photographed personalities such as Diana, Princess of Wales, Elizabeth Taylor, and Mick Jagger. Early life Young grew up in North London. He left school when he was 15 and worked in a boutique in King's Road. In 1968, he went to Paris where he spent nine months working with advertising and fashion photographer, John Bishop. In the early 1970s, he moved to New York City where his girlfriend was photographer Flo Fox. He returned to London in the spring of 1974 and worked at a bookshop on Regent Street. Savoy Hotel
The Savoy Hotel is a luxury hotel located in the Strand in the City of Westminster in central London, England. Built by the impresario Richard D'Oyly Carte with profits from his Gilbert and Sullivan opera productions, it opened on 6 August 1889. It was the first in the Savoy group of hotels and restaurants owned by Carte's family for over a century. Frost French
Frost French was a British fashion label established in 1999 and run by the British movie actress Sadie Frost and Jemima French. History Frost French was created by Sadie Frost and Jemima French, who have been friends since they were fifteen. The fashion label began in London as a design based studio in 1999. At first the company sold only knickers and lingerie, though later expanded to a full women's wear collection. The company had an Autumn/Winter debut show, which featured Kate Moss's strip tease, on 17 February 2001 at the Duke of York's Theatre in the West End of London. Ben De Lisi
Ben de Lisi (born 31 May 1955) is an American born fashion designer based in London. He is best known for his collections with high street store Debenhams, and as a mentor and judge on the television series '' Project Catwalk''. Early life De Lisi was born in New York and grew up in Long Island. He moved in with his grandmother when studying sculpture at the Pratt Institute in Brooklyn. He became interested in fashion when his grandmother taught him how to sew and recreate a pair of trousers he could not afford to buy. Career De Lisi started designing his own menswear range in 1979, and he moved to London in the fashion industry in 1982. He started working with Debenhams in 1992. Keren Craig
Keren Craig (born 27 February 1976 in Lucerne, Switzerland) is a Swiss-born British fashion designer. Together with Georgina Chapman, she founded the high-end fashion label Marchesa in 2004. Life and career As teenagers, Craig met future partner Georgina Chapman while they were both students at Chelsea College of Art and Design. Craig graduated from Brighton Art College in 2000 with a BA (Hons) in Fashion Textiles with Business and afterwards concentrated on print and embroidery design. Georgina Rose Chapman (born 14 April 1976) is an English fashion designer and actress. She was a regular cast member on '' Project Runway All Stars'' and, together with Keren Craig, is a co-founder of the fashion label Marchesa. Capsule Collection
A capsule wardrobe is a collection of clothing that is composed of interchangeable items only, to maximise the number of outfits that can be created. The aim is to have an outfit suitable for any occasion without owning excessive items of clothing. This is usually achieved by buying what are considered to be "key" or "staple" items in coordinating colours. It has been the subject of several popular television series and appears widely in British and American fashion media. Capsule wardrobes appeared in American publications as early as the 1940s as small collections of garments designed to be worn together which harmonize in color and line. Susie Faux, owner of London boutique "Wardrobe", revived the term in the 1970s.
