Project 28
Project 28 is the name given to a U.S. border protection program that runs along a stretch of the United States–Mexico border, US/Mexican border in southern Arizona.Randal C. It involves the placement of 9 high-tech surveillance towers that monitor activity using radar, high-resolution cameras, and wireless networking, looking for incursions to report to the Border Patrol. In February 2008, authorities said that the project did not work as planned nor did it meet the needs of the U.S. Border Patrol. Buenos Aires National Wildlife Refuge (Buenos Aires NWR) provides of habitat for threatened and endangered plants and animals. This refuge, in Pima County, Arizona, was established in 1985. Natural history The semidesert grassland supports the reintroduction of Northern Bobwhite#Masked quail, Masked quail and pronghorns. Prescribed and natural fires play a major role in maintaining and restoring the sea of grass that once filled the Altar Valley. Riparian (wetland) areas along Arivaca Cienega and Arivaca Creek attract an abundance of birds. Brown Canyon, to the west of the Arivaca Creek area, is nestled in the Baboquivari Peak Wilderness, Baboquivari Mountains, where a Arizona Sycamore, sycamore-lined stream meanders through oak woodland. The Texas A&M Transportation Institute (TTI) in Bryan/College Station, Texas is a transportation research agency in the United States.
