"Prodigal Daughter" is the 161st episode of the television series '' Star Trek: Deep Space Nine'', the 11th episode of the seventh season. Set in the 24th century, the series follows the adventures of the crew of the space station Deep Space Nine. Miles Edward O'Brien is a character in the '' Star Trek'' franchise, portrayed by actor Colm Meaney. Ezri Dax () is a fictional character who appears in the seventh and final season of the American science fiction TV series '' Star Trek: Deep Space Nine''. Portrayed by Nicole de Boer, she is a counselor aboard the Bajoran space station ''Deep Space Nine''. Bradley Thompson is an American television writer and producer known for episodes of '' Star Trek: Deep Space Nine'' (1996–1999), ''The Twilight Zone'' (2002–2003), ''Battlestar Galactica'' (2004–2009), ''CSI: Crime Scene Investigation'' (2009-2011), ''Falling Skies'' (2011-2013), and ''The Strain'' (2014-2017) with writing partner David Weddle.
