ProVeg International () is a non-governmental organisation that works in the field of food system change and has ten offices globally. The organisation's stated mission is to reduce the consumption of animal products by 50% by 2040, to be replaced by plant-based or cultured alternatives. Instead of increasing the share of vegetarians and vegans, ProVeg's focus is on reducing animal product consumption in the general population. ProVeg operates in Germany (ProVeg Deutschland, founded as in 1892), the Netherlands ( ProVeg Nederland, founded as Viva Las Vega's in 2011), Belgium, China, Czechia, Poland, South Africa, Spain, the United Kingdom, and the United States. Compassion In World Farming
Compassion in World Farming (CIWF) is a campaigning and lobbying animal welfare organisation. It campaigns against the live export of animals, certain methods of livestock slaughter, and all systems of factory farming. It has received celebrity endorsements and been recognized by BBC Radio 4 for its campaigning. It has grown to a global movement with partners and supporters concerned about the welfare of farm animals. History Peter Roberts, a Hampshire dairy farmer, founded Compassion in World Farming (CIWF) in 1967. Marcus Johannes "Mark" Post (born 20 July 1957) is a Dutch pharmacologist who is Professor of Vascular Physiology at Maastricht University and (until 2010) Professor of Angiogenesis in Tissue Engineering at the Eindhoven University of Technology.
