Prix Iris For Best First Film
The Prix Iris for Best First Film (french: Prix Iris du meilleur premier film) is an annual film award, presented by Québec Cinéma as part of its Prix Iris awards program, to honour the year's best debut film made within the Cinema of Quebec. The award was presented for the first time at the 21st Quebec Cinema Awards as a special award to the director and producers. Starting at the 22nd Quebec Cinema Awards in 2020, the category became competitive, with the award being given to the directors and sometime screenwriters of the nominated films. Guillaume Vigneault, (born August 5, 1970 in Montreal, Quebec) is a Canadian novelist. He is the son of Gilles Vigneault. Studies and works After receiving a bachelor's degree in literary studies at the Université du Québec à Montréal and beginning a master's degree in the same subject, he decided to be a novelist. When he was young, his favourite writers were Albert Camus, Ernest Hemingway and Fyodor Dostoyevsky. Kim McCraw (born ) is a Canadian film producer and co-founder of the Montreal-based production company micro_scope, with Luc Déry. She was born in Granby, Quebec, and after graduating from Cégep de Granby became a director's assistant. McCraw met Dery while working on a short film in Granby.
