Prix Iris For Best Documentary Film
The Prix Iris for Best Documentary Film (french: Prix Iris du meilleur film documentaire) is an annual film award presented by Québec Cinéma as part of its Prix Iris program, to honour the year's best documentary film made within the cinema of Quebec. Until 2016, it was known as the Jutra Award for Best Supporting Actor in memory of influential Quebec film director Claude Jutra. Following the withdrawal of Jutra's name from the award, the 2016 award was presented under the name Québec Cinéma. Serge Giguère (born 1946 in Arthabaska, Quebec) is a Canadian documentary filmmaker. Magnus Isacsson (1948 - August 2, 2012) was a Canadian documentary filmmaker whose films investigated contemporary political issues and topics in social activism. Early life and television career Isacsson was born in Sweden in 1948. His father founded and ran an art school and his mother taught children with learning disabilities. Isacsson first became involved with photography, with photographs exhibited at the Museum of Modern Art in Stockholm when he was 18 years old. He immigrated to Canada in 1970. "Enfants" is a 2008 single by electronic music producer Ricardo Villalobos. Though 17 minutes in length, the A-side, "Enfants (Chants)", has been described as a "remarkably catchy, hype-inducing DJ tool" by Pitchfork Media, and as a "great tool for DJs" by electronic music magazine Resident Advisor, due to its minimal changes over the course of the entire song. Structure The branding of "Enfants (Chants)" as a "DJ tool" is due to its unusual structure, incorporating "no development over its seventeen minute length". The song is based on a repeating sample of "Baba Yaga La Sorcière", a track from Christian Vander's 1995 rework of his band Magma's '' Mekanïk Destruktïw Kommandöh'' (1973). AVANT, also known as AVANT street art guerrilla collective, was the artist group active in New York City from 1980 to 1984. By 1984 AVANT had produced thousands of acrylic on paper paintings and plastered them on walls, doors, bus-stops and galleries citywide. Principal artists were Christopher Hart Chambers, David Fried, and Marc Thorne.
