Prisunic
Prisunic (Société Française des Magasins à Prix Uniques) was a French variety store chain that closed in 2003. Its stores were generally located downtown. History The Prisunic stores were founded by Maurice Farhi Pierre Lanuionie, and Henry Reichenbach, however accounts vary as to the exact details. At the end of 1931, Pierre Laguionie, majority shareholder of the Printemps department stores in Paris, created Prisunic chain of stores in order to compete with the Uniprix chain of stores, created in 1928 by the Nouvelles Galeries. Prisunic aimed to offer a range of "cheap prices for everyday non-food products, with groceries, confectionery and some fresh products". An immediate success, despite political pressure from traditional retailers worried about competition. Affiliated stores followed. Andrée Putman (23 December 1925 – 19 January 2013) was a French interior and product designer. She was the mother of Olivia Putman and of Cyrille Putman. A variety store (also five and dime (historic), pound shop, or dollar store) is a retail store that sells general merchandise, such as apparel, automotive parts, dry goods, toys, hardware, home furnishings, and a selection of groceries. Les Inconnus ("The Unknowns") are a French trio of humourists consisting of Didier Bourdon, Bernard Campan and Pascal Légitimus. While their first successes were on stage, they are most famous for their satirical sketch comedy television show ''La Télé des Inconnus'', which premiered in 1990 and remained popular throughout the early 1990s. Thierry "Hazard" Gesteau (, ; born June 7, 1962), is a French singer-songwriter from Compiègne, Hauts-de-France. Biography Gesteau was born in Compiègne, and grew up in Sèvres. During the 1980s, he became the singer of the band GPS, an acronym of Garage Psychiatric Suburban (the group's guitarist, Tom "Backerfix" Darnal, became Mano Negra's keyboardist).
