Priscillo Diniz
Jose Priscillo G. Diniz (born 12 December 1948) is a Brazilian professional golfer. Diniz was born in São Paulo. He comes from a family which boasts several other professional golfers, including his grandfather, but he did not turn professional himself until the age of 28, having previously been a practicing lawyer. As an amateur he was twice Brazilian Amateur champion and he also won the 1975 South American Amateur Championship. In his regular (that is under fifty) career, Diniz won several titles on the South American circuit. He played on the European Tour in 1977 and 1978, but with little success. In 2000 he was the Rookie of the Year on the European Seniors Tour and finished sixth on that tour's Order of Merit. 1976 Eisenhower Trophy
The 1976 Eisenhower Trophy took place 13 to 16 October at the Penina Hotel & Golf Resort in Portimão, Algarve, Portugal. It was the tenth World Amateur Team Championship for the Eisenhower Trophy. The tournament was a 72-hole stroke play team event with 38 four-man teams. The best three scores for each round counted towards the team total. Great Britain and Ireland won the Eisenhower Trophy for the second time, finishing two strokes ahead of the silver medalists, Japan, who had also been runners-up in 1974. Australia took the bronze medal, three strokes further behind, while team Republic of China finished fourth. 1988 Dunhill Cup
The 1988 Dunhill Cup was the fourth Dunhill Cup. It was a team tournament featuring 16 countries, each represented by three players. The Cup was played 13–16 October at the Old Course at St Andrews in Scotland. The sponsor was the Alfred Dunhill company. The Irish team of Eamonn Darcy, Ronan Rafferty, and Des Smyth beat the Australian team of Rodger Davis, David Graham, and Greg Norman in the final. (As in the World Cup, Ireland was represented by a combined Ireland and Northern Ireland team.) Format The Cup was played as a single-elimination, match play event played over four days. The top eight teams were seeded with the remaining teams randomly placed in the bracket. In each match, the three players were paired with their opponents and played 18 holes at medal match play. Dunhill Cup
The Alfred Dunhill Cup was a team golf tournament which ran from 1985 to 2000, sponsored by Alfred Dunhill Ltd. It was for three-man teams of professional golfers, one team representing each country, and was promoted as the "World Team Championship". It was a "special approved event" on the European Tour, which means that it was supported by the Tour, but the prize money did not count towards the Tour's Order of Merit. The host course was the Old Course at St Andrews in Scotland. The stature of the members of the American team was variable as the Dunhill Cup clashed with a PGA Tour event, though the fact that it was played at "The Home of Golf" helped to attract some star names.
