Priscilla Scott-Ellis
Hon. Esyllt Priscilla "Pip" Scott-Ellis (15 November 1916 – 1983) was a British diarist. She was one of only two women who volunteered to be nurses for the Nationalist faction (Spanish Civil War), Nationalists during the Spanish Civil War. Life Ellis was born in Seaford House in Belgravia in 1916. She was the daughter of Margherita (born van Raalte) and Thomas Scott-Ellis, 8th Baron Howard de Walden. She was educated at Queen's College, London, privately, at Benenden School and at a finishing school in Paris. Her siblings were Elisabeth Gwendolen (later Robinson) (1914-1976), Hon. Bronwen Mary (later Lindsay) (1912-2003) and John Osmael Scott-Ellis, 9th Baron Howard de Walden (1912-1999). It is said that her parents gave her only a small amount of their time and attention and she described as eager to please. She was obsessed with Prince Ataúlfo de Orleans who was a closet homosexual. Seaford House
Seaford House, originally called Sefton House, is a former aristocratic mansion and the largest of the detached houses sited on each corner of Belgrave Square, London, England. It is a magnolia stucco building with four main storeys most famed for its interiors (the first floor, or piano nobile, being decorated in the French style). Dating from 1842, Sefton House was designed by Philip Hardwick to meet the requirements of 3rd Earl of Sefton. The house, with its railings and gate piers, have been listed Grade II* for their architectural merit. The 3rd and 4th Earls used it as their town house; the 5th Earl, being an invalid, could not do so and after he died childless in 1901, the lease was sold to William Tebb. Lord Howard de Walden, who was also Baron Seaford, acquired the lease for Sefton House in 1902 and renamed it Seaford House.
