Principal Secretary To The President Of Pakistan
The principal secretary to the president of Pakistan is the administrative head of Aiwan-e-Sadr. The position was considered to be a very important one until 2010 as after the Eighteenth Amendment, the presidency was reduced to a mere ceremonial position. The position holder usually belongs to the Pakistan Administrative Service. The current principal secretary to the president is Mr Waqar Ahmad from Secretariat Group. He is holding this position since 5th February 2022. The longest-serving principal secretary to the president was ace bureaucrat Qudrat Ullah Shahab, who served with three heads of state. The Aiwan-e-Sadr ( ur, ), or Presidential Palace, is the official residence and workplace of the President of Pakistan. It is located in northeastern Islamabad on Constitution Avenue, between the Parliament Building and the Cabinet block of the Pakistan Secretariat. Residences for the Presidential staff, known as the President's Colony, are also located behind the Presidency, adjacent to 4th Avenue. Qudrat Ullah Shahab
Qudrat Ullah Shahab (or Qudratullah Shahab, ur, ; 26 February 191724 July 1986) was an eminent Urdu writer and civil servant from Pakistan. Shahab holds the distinction of having served as the Principal Secretary to three heads of state; Governor General Ghulam Muhammad, President Iskander Mirza, and President Ayub Khan.
